The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

    "Humor: YMMV"
    Overall

I felt I should write a short review in defense of my 2 star rating. To be honest, I only made it through 2 hours of the book, but it wasn't funny. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the humor comes across as very British. I like Python and Ricky Gervais, but this simply didn't make me smile. YMMV

15 thriller masters. 1 masterful thriller! Former war crimes investigator Harold Middleton possesses a previously unknown score by Frederic Chopin. But he is unaware that, within it's handwritten notes, lies a secret that now threatens the lives of thousands of Americans. As he races from Poland to the U.S. to uncover the mystery of the manuscript, Middleton will be accused of murder, pursued by federal agents, and targeted by assassins.

    BSquared67 says: "A rollicking thriller"
    "Erratic"

I appreciate a well-told story. Although the multiple authors certainly make for an unpredictable ride, the disjointed feeling at every chapter's ending kept me from enjoying the story. However, there are few books with the ridiculous plot twists that such a collaboration provides.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Aaron Brown says: "Unique Magic system, good plot twists."
    "Great Trilogy"
    Overall

I can't recommend this series enough. The first book stands as a great work in its own right with a solid ending. However, the story is continued in books 2 and 3 with revelations that only make the storytelling in book 1 that much more appreciated.

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

    Julio says: "Well concluded!"
    "Rivals Book 1"
    Overall

In my opinion, Book 3 rivals Book 1 in overall quality. If you've listened to Book 2, I would certainly recommend that you finish out the series with the Hero of Ages. This book fleshes out a lot of plot details introduced in the first two books. It reveals how organized the author was and really made me appreciate this trilogy for the storytelling.

The impossible has been accomplished. The Lord Ruler - the man who claimed to be god incarnate and brutally ruled the world for a thousand years - has been vanquished. But Kelsier, the hero who masterminded that triumph, is dead too, and now the awesome task of building a new world has been left to his young protégé, Vin, the former street urchin who is now the most powerful Mistborn in the land, and to the idealistic young nobleman she loves.

Robert says: "It keeps getting even better"
    "Slower but worthwhile"
    Overall

I just finished the third book. The second is the slowest and least rewarding of the three, but the plot it provides makes the third book pretty incredible. I would suggest that before purchasing this book that you commit to also listening to the third book. If you liked the first book as much as I did, this would be a no-brainer. If you didn't like the first book, I would certainly not recommend the Well of Ascension.
