So great intellectual information and rational behind the book but it really doesn’t given you guidance on how not to overeat, just tells us why we do over eat.

This is a novella about half the regular size and half the regular price.
How did I ever consider my self a fan of SiFi and not read this book? I am a shamed, but have rectified the situation. This is a quirky book which is the foundation of so much SiFi culture. I then jumped to the 1980's BBC presentation and found the book better. Good audio and characterizations. If you are considering the title, Go For It! It's cheese, campy and an essential for this genera.
In the vain of Monty Python.
Being forced to read this in school I thought I would give it another try as an adult. I can appreciate it, but I didn't like it. The imagery is great, the symbolism to Christ's trials is evident throughout the book and Donald Sutherland doesn't break a sweat in regards to his narration -very quite, steady and well, boring. The voice is a good fit to the monotonous story. All in all it's still a fish tale
OK there is about 20 different variations and readers of this book but this is the one! The narrator, Anton Lester, is an artist with his pretrial of characters. Good timing, vocalization overall an excellent recording. Oh yes, that story is stellar by all accounts.
Such violence; I was remembering that I read this story as a youth and thought it was no big deal, but now, wow...
Props for a classic story that speaks to not only man's harsh actions but animals as well. Lost of violence and cruelty that is presented as a part of real life. The story is actually bland being a gold rush and sled dog story going here and there, but the interactions and relationships between the characters is what rips at your core and makes it a great listen. Good audio quality.
I was drawn to this book by the cover art and that I have three labs at home. The book seems like the dissertation of a PhD candidate, with the "author's note" thrown in for the regular folk. When the author is being real its great, when she is being high falutent explaining her research it drags like a textbook.
Such a cool idea to write about King Tut, but it just didn't run as deep as I would have liked it too. The three time periods were OK, could have use just two Howard Carter's and Tut's timeline. Overall worth a credit --better yet, worth a CD burn and passing it to your friends!
So this is a chick book back in the day when chicks were not allow to write and so had to use male pen names. For the time and place in history this was written it is a very good story with excellent character development and plot line.
It's like ripping off the band aid slowly. I'm going to read some classics now. Please not more, writing is bland and basic. Story line is fantastic and un-climatic at the same time. That’s hard to do, but by all means read on and see for yourself.
