It’s Rome, 63bc. In a city on the brink of acquiring a vast empire, seven men are struggling for power. Cicero is consul, Caesar his ruthless young rival, Pompey the republic’s greatest general, Crassus its richest man, Cato a political fanatic, Catilina a psychopath, and Clodius is an ambitious playboy. The stories of these real historical figures - their alliances and betrayals, their cruelties and seductions, their brilliance and their crimes - are all interleaved to form this epic novel.

Simon Forsyth says: "Brilliantly told story of ancient Rome"
    "Great period story"
    Overall

Harris uses enough fact to make this an enjoyable story and the narrator does a great job of bringing the character's to life.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, definitely worth a listen.

"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says (Publishers Weekly).

Would you listen to The Company again? Why?

Yes, it was entertaining the first time with some great characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Company?

The account of the Russian takeover of Budapest

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He really lets you identify each character in the story by their accent and overall personality a great performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the Wizz was waiting for Ebby to come out of Budapest or waiting for news from the Bay of Pigs.

    Any additional comments?

Robert Littell hits all the major high (or low) points in the CIA's history in this great spy novel overcrowded with memorable characters, like the Sorcerer.

For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard. Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes.

Elle says: "I'd listen to Guidall read the tax code, so..."

When you're the best at what you do, it's not always easy to walk away. Nathan McBride was retired. The trained Marine sniper and covert CIA operative had put the violence of his former life behind him. But not anymore. A deep-cover FBI agent has disappeared along with one ton of powerful Semtex explosive, enough to unleash a disaster of international proportions. The U.S. government has no choice but to coax Nathan out of retirement.

Debt of Honor ends as Jack Ryan is confirmed vice president minutes before a mammoth act of terrorism kills the President, most of his cabinet, all but a few members of Congress, the entire Supreme Court and all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Suddenly Ryan is President, which is where Executive Orders begins.

Thomas says: "Don't some of us wish Jack ryan was real?"

Would you listen to Executive Orders again? Why?

I have already listened to ( and read) it again, I think you just pick up a little more detail each time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Pat O'day , he comes accross as a lot like Clark (kelly) but with a different twist, maybe a little more every day man.

What does Michael Prichard bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He gives most of the characters a little more color and depth (although you mostly have an idea of their personality/voice in your own mind)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I would love to have done that, however in the real world with 3 kids, spending 51.5 hours by myself is impossible let alone listening to a book.

    Any additional comments?

Overall Clancy writes another excellent story, his character development remains one of his great strengths and realy at this stage in the game (what book 13 or somthing) I am realy hooked.
You should realy read or listen to all of his books.
