"Very interesting and scary."
Yes, there is a lot to be learned from Churchill. Lessons from the past teach us why the world is in the current state of upheaval and what are likely outcomes in the future.
His eerie prediction of the coming (and now here) problems with Islamic terrorism, and the letter he wrote that was read to G.W. Bush after 9/11.
No
Not possible. There is just too much to digest. I shall be listening to this again and again.
Need more good history books.
"History of Islam NOT Middle East"
Muslims and people who want to believe that the west is responsible for all the problems in the Islamic world.
There was no history of the various peoples. It was all religion, but skipped thousands of years of Judaism and hundreds of years of Christianity. Some information was incorrect. It was a PC version of Islamic history.
Maybe
I wouldn't publish it.
"Best Performance Ever"
The absolute best thing was the acting ability of the performer Paul Michael. The story itself was good but somewhat predictable, however, the acting made it so much more interesting.
No, as above, it was good but obvious in places.
All the foreigners. Michael's ability to do accents and read foreign languages well was superior.
No extreme reaction.
If I could've given Paul Michael a 6 I would have. He made the book worthwhile.
"Cheerful Beatrix Potter Bedtime Story of the Stasi"
No, publishers summary says "extraordinary tales from the underbelly of the former East Germany," but 6 chapters in I'm still waiting... I was hoping for an exciting historical communist spy vs. people story, instead there was a lot of stuff about the reporter, her feelings and opinions etc. It was like a dull PBS/BBC p.c "isn't it terrible" essay that misses the greater point.
Not the genre, just the author and especially the performer.
Sounds like my old Aunties cheerful renditions of The Big Bad Wolf. The performance lacked intonation, therefore there was no emotional/passage or character differentiation. German voices had no accents but were simply read in a lower voice.
No.
