I am a fan of most biographies of British royalty, and this was a superb treat. An amazing chronicle of the children of a very controversial king. And, the apples certainly did not fall far from the tree! I can't wait to read more of her work.
The synopsis and reviews encouraged me to buy this book, but I was never able to really engage the story.
I am addicted to this author and her Tudor and Cousin's War series. Thanks you for these amazing journeys!
Thank you for the wonderful journey! This series is a hit! And, a true look at the twists and turns of the Tudor dynasty.
Thank you for such great tales of the royal families of England. They are a very enthralling group!
I bought this book on a whim, since I am normally obsessed with English history. But, it turned out to be real fun! A good romp through a 40's detective novel!
I have an affinity for stories (albeit fiction or non-fiction) about English royalty. And, Allison Weir is one of my favorite authors in that genre.
I just cannot get enough of Philippa Gregory! Her series have kept me enthralled and feed my interest in English royalty. Thank you!
First I read "The Other Boleyn Girl", then "The White Queen:, then "The Red Queen", and didn't think any other book could top those, but this one did. Philippa continues to feed my desire for more tales about the English royalty!
The story is first rate! Contrasting two men, obsessed with their passions at the same time in history, one good and one evil. The backdrop of the evolving city of Chicago only adds to the mystery and the shocking differences between there quests.
If you want the historic details about the English royals, rather than a "romanticized" version of the facts, this author has to be your choice. Another great read!
