"Best listen so far"
Listening to this version of Wuthering Heights was absolutely riveting. Normally I don't like multiple readers but it worked very well for this production. I am left trying to decide if this is a love story or a tale of horror because the portrayal of Heathcliff as a seriously mentally ill man was so strong.
"Narrator makes this work"
I loved this book. I might have taken it just as tabloid except for the effective narration. Paul Boehmer manages to "be" both Elizabeth and Richard without resorting to annoying voices. I was particularly struck with the power that Richard had with language which comes through in his letters and the delivery with a deeper voice and a lovely accent.
"Thank you for making this available"
I listened to this lecture on my long walk home from work. I have never walked so quickly as I got more intrigued by the ideas being expressed. There were so many projections for the future that Brewster Kahle suggests are reasonably within our grasp. His ideas beg the question of why we haven't made more of an effort to achieve the goals. This was an excellent program.
"Know yourself and enjoy!"
Are you intested in solving problems? Can you handle a little gore? Do you want to know how great minds (sane and otherwise) solved problems. This is a great listen but be sure that you are OK with lots of detail about building challenges and detailed solutions. I enjoyed this thoroughly as an eye opener to another age that led to so many of the things that we are familiar with today. However those of you not keen on building detail might find it dry.
