Part history, part true-crime, and entirely entertaining, listen to the story of how the behemoth Oxford English Dictionary was made. You'll hang on every word as you discover that the dictionary's greatest contributor was also an insane murderer working from the confines of an asylum.

Jerry says: "Perfect example of a quality audible book."
    "Great story, well told"

This is a terrific story with a great narration by the author. If you are a history, mystery or non-fiction buff, you will find this book first rate. I'm off to check out the rest of his titles. I hope they are on par with this one.

In Los Angeles in 1988, a 16-year-old girl disappeared from her home and was later found dead of a gunshot wound to the chest. The death appeared at first to be a suicide, but some of the evidence contradicted that scenario, and detectives came to believe this was in fact a murder. Despite a by-the-book investigation, no one was ever charged.

I am a great fan of Connelly's writing but this novel didn't translate well for me in an audio adaptation. It dragged on and on. Perhaps in an abridged version, the mystery would be more fast paced. I was also disapointed in the narration. I could not "hear" Len Cariou as the voice of Harry Bosch. This won't keep me from trying another Connelly mystery but I'll definitely choose an abridged version.
