I don't think it would be possible to make this a 4 or 5 star.
Nope, never, nada, not even
Full of himself.
I would cut from the second word to the last word.
The pacing and the unexpected turns of the story. You can see things coming but they still blow you away when they actually get there with some little unexpected twist.
I like the fact that the character reacts to the bad guys in a totally non-politically correct fashion, but also in a totally satisfying manner
Dick Hill has the perfect voice, pacing and inflection to BE Jack Reacher.
Absolutely. And I will probably listen to it again hopefully in one sitting.
The way Doyle keeps you constantly guessing.
The reader made it come to life.
I don't know about extreme but it was an enjoyable listen
If the author would have just stuck to the story without going off and these long anti-American rants over an over again!
John Irving obviously hates America and spent half the very long book going into these long diatribes about evil Americans and the Vietnam War. Which, by the way, added nothing to the storyline.
The only saving grace to this whole audio book is the performance. His ability to change voices worked very well
This book made me all of the above, Angry, Sad, and disappointed because of the authors departure from the basic story line. IF you want to write an Anti-American book about the history of the Vietnam War do it, but don't try and hide it in an otherwise good story.
I will try and avoid this author in the future
Yes and will because there is a lot to take in over a single listen
Ties in military, economics, mystery and a little sex all in a fast moving package
Keeps the story moving and alive
From today's headlines
all charaters were well developed
Yes Lou Diamond Phillips excellent as usual
First word through the last
Clancy - absolutely. Muller - no on your life
The narrator was trying too hard. Tom Clancy books are very macho and this narrator was trying too hard and being way too overdramatic. The whole book is done in a very breathless / breathy style which doesn't fit a Clancy book at all. Made me think of a new actor in a community play trying way too hard and over acting.I bought this book originally in 2003 and could not finish it for that reason. 10 years later and I going to try and finish it again because I like Tom Clancy so much, Don't know if I will be able to complete it this time as the narration is SO bad.
Yes, Everything about Clancy's books are marvelous.
It is absolutely captivating.
I liked the parallels it draws between Israel of old and the United States of Today
From the first chapter to the last.
I guess the performance was ok but the book was terrible
Don't really know
The story is fast moving and captivating
Made me feel like I was the main player
The narration was top rate.
