"A Cure for Insomnia"
The story started off strong and interesting but quickly fell into a seemingly repetitive pattern. This book truly bored me to sleep and other activities. It was very difficult to even finish. If you truly are an insomniac, however, this book may get you some shut eye. Either that or just anger you that it cant even keep your long nights interesting.
"Plausible and Entertaining. Great Narration!"
One second after is a very well written, albeit from a military standpoint, story of a very possible scenario if the USA were to be struck with an EMP attack. The story is wonderful, and hits very close to home. It really does make you think. And unlike numerous sci-fi stories I try to listen to, the narrator does a wonderful job. Way to go, Forstchen and Barrett!
"touching and familiar"
This book is written with such heart and an admirable look at David sheff's own life, it is inspiring. His writing is wonderful. The story is touching and familiar, scary to some points. it had me crying and laughing and David made me love Nic, him, and his family. If you have any sense of true love, or know addicts, or have a heart for them on any level; you'll love this book. it is not light reading. it is true and wrenching.
"An absolute must!!"
If you are even slightly into thrillers/mysteries you will LOVE these books. Stieg Larsson is a genius!!
"Good, but nothing new"
Entertaining, but nothing new from dan brown...
"Delicious!"
this book make you thirsty for blood! Well written with a wonderful narrative. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for the sequel!
"Entertaining, but NOT a Tie-In"
While this book was well written and entertaining, I was expecting a bit more depth and side plot since it is advertised as a tie-in to the movie. This book is, in fact, THE MOVIE. Aside from a few minor changes, a couple extra details to JTk's life, and a slightly different ending, this is exactly as the movie plays out. The movie is very good, as is this book. I just wish it was not advertised as a tie-in. I gave it 4 stars. It would have been 5 if, like I said, there was more depth than the movie.
"Redeeming Second Half"
This book was extremely slow to start. So much so, it took me nearly two weeks to push through the first half. It simply would not grab my attention for anything.
As soon as the second half hit though, the book became interesting and intriguing.
I do recommend this book. Though do realize that unless you push through the first half to the second half, you will be bored and frustrated with your purchase.
