I'm a huge "Wallflower" series lover. Especially Isabel and Simon Hunt. So I had doubts about liking the The Hathaways but gave them a try and I'm so glad I did. I was so happy that Ms. Klaypas brought the two families together from time to time. Leo Ramsey is possibly one of my favorite character of al time. Ms. Klaypas along with narrator Rosalyn Landor can send one right in the middle of old time England full of colorful and lovable characters. All this and romance as well. It's a must read series.
This is a typical cute and predictable romance story. I did enjoy the fact that one of the main characters was a divorced mother with a teenager. That gave the couple an interesting trail to work through. The plot also leads a forehead slapping moment when both the teen son and difficult ex-husband discover the couple in bed.
I had been counting down the days to this book's release for weeks and the excitement continued throughout the whole book UNTIL THE END. I could have swore this was to be a trilogy so one could image my response to it being a cliffhanger. This book is so filled with action and intrigue of all kinds that when it ended while in the middle of another nail bitting moment I truly screamed "NOOOOOO" out loud. Luckily I was home. I'm going insane with the thought of enduring yet another year for the 4th and what Kresely now claims to be final book. As usual Emma Galvin's amazing narration takes an already phenomenal story to the next level.
Despite it's interesting intro with this new take on another character that sees ghost, the first few chapters were pretty slow moving. So much so that I almost returned the book but by the middle the pace and plot picked up. By the end of the book I couldn't wait to get the next one. Glad I didn't give up.
Like the first book, it had a slow start but it had just enough intrigue to keep me listen. By the end of the book I couldn't wait to get the next. One of the few ghost series out there that actually has a different take rather than the obvious and predicable plots.
I can't tell you how many times I almost gave up on this book due to it's slow dragging start. Once the author picks up gears it makes for such an interesting story.
I had been waiting on pins and needles for this book and was a bit disappointed. Not sure if it was the narrator that didn't work for me but the book just seemed to drag on. The saving grace was the ending that picked up a bit with some action and an interesting intro to the author's next book. Hope next book is better than this one.
If you love Jeaniene Frost or Kresely Cole's book series you HAVE to give this series a try. Each book has different adventures that your favorite characters go on so one never gets bored and each book is better than the last. The author has developed a fun and amazing character in Charley Davidson that you won't be able to get enough of. Laughter, romance, and supernatural beings, what more can you ask for.
What I would have given to have had Pinkalicious when I was my daughter age. At least we can enjoy all the stories together. Great Halloween Fun.
I give it to the Cast Girls they keep you reading and looking forward to the next book even when your ready to cut them off. The first few books suck you in with the characters and plots but by the 8th book all that made you love them annoys you. Even Neferet has gone from bad ass to "Really Now". Truly if it wasn't for Caitlin Davies narrations I couldn't have gotten through it. That being said Redeemed has a decent enough ending to a lingering series for those who feel the way I do i.e. "I'm done with this series but I can not not listen to it." Thanks so much for the good times but glad to say Good-Bye.
After looking forward to the finale it was very disappointing once I finally got to hear it. The book is incredibly long and just drags the story out way too much. I was even able to doze off for a half hour and didn't miss a thing or lose my place since the story still had not moved on. Sadly the few highlights are ruined because the narrators are just some of the worse I've ever heard. If you're a fan as I was you probably won't be able to help but get this book to know how it end but trust me you're better off reading some Spoiler Alerts someone is sure to have out there. Save your money.
