Let me start by saying I love Lisa Kleypas but this book just seemed to drag on. The part of the would be love triangle didn't come until the last few chapters and was pretty uneventful compared to what I was looking forward to. If you read Blue eyed Devil and Smooth Operator you would probably want to read this one to complete the Travis tales so to speak. Even thought these stories aren't like the Wallflower to Hathaway series. Anyway I wouldn't say "Don't bother with this one" however it's a let down compared to her other books especially Blue eyed Devil which was so very good.
One of the many reason's I adore Kresely is that she doesn't really do cliffhangers…..until now. Waiting a year for poison princess series is bad enough and now this? 4 hours is no way near long enough once you dive into a world of money and the mob that is lead by your newly found father. And then start a hot and heavy relationship with the untouchable body guard?……..Well all I can say is Please Hurry With the Next Book!
I was jumping up and down when I found Jamie wrote about the wedding. However from time to time Abby titers from wanting to marry Travis for love to marring him just to keep him out of possibly going to jail. This was something that I hadn't thought of with in the 50 times I've listened to both Beautiful & Walking Disaster. That fact kind of ruined the romance side. Luckily Jamie pulls it out of the bag with the romance leading to our favorite couple to be adorably mushy and loving. I would have loved to hear about the details that lead Travis to work for the government. It was briefly spoken about in Walking D.
While I love Wanted book 1 because I love Eli and Gunner there was too much drama.Same went for book 2. Drama on top of craziness. Yet I just couldn't stay away from this book even though I wasn't sure if I would be in the mood for more craziness. So I was beyond pleasantly surprised at some of the cute & loving moments with the group of friends and how they stand by one another. Equally adorable moments with all of your favorite couples. I'm glad I took a chance on this one.
This is such an interesting supernatural story involving Lorelei and the angel of death looking after her and yes he falls in love with her but it's not a world wind romance. The title suggests their love for each other is the major issue along with saving the world. When it's all about saving the world and just a touch of romance. But the writing as always is funny and clever just what you would expect from D Jones. And Lorelei King is once again amazing. A true gem.
If you've read the book's summary than you know the whole story and can easily predict how it ends. But it was cute and worth reading for those who want a light romance with some steamy love scenes.
I was all set to listen to a triangle love story. Wonder who Stacy would end up with after a back an forth time. The beginning starts out with that feeling. Then they get to Houston and Stacy starts acting a bit slutty. Even going so far as getting a lap dance from a girl. One would think that would lead into an interesting moment of conflict with one of the 3 but nothing. Making that whole long scene unnecessary. Stacy spends more than half of the book with Jeremy & for the most part happy, flirty with Billy in a way that makes her seem like just a two timing tramp and then after Stacy jumps to the wrong conclusion about Jeremy….That's when she realizes she loves Billy. Not a well thought out story in my opinion.
Great love at first sight story. From the moment River & Dahlia meet you're cheering for them even though she's with her childhood sweetheart Ben. But when something happens to Ben she has a hard time dealing with everything until River comes back into Dahlia's live. What makes this book so amazing is that it's not just a love story but also a mystery. One that you don't see coming til the end of the book making it truly one of the best books I've ever read.
Great conclusion to a great 2 part book. It didn't drag on letting the pieces fall into place so that River & Dahlia get their happily ever after. Their love story was romantic without being overly mushy which is not always easily found. I'm hoping the author continues with maybe Ben's story and maybe the others. But if not, at least River & Dahlia are finally together & happy.
If you're looking for easy romance to listen to, this one's not for you. About half of the characters have had car accidents and about a dozen misunderstandings that almost end relationships between the 2 books in this series. (And there's still one more book to go) Just when you're setting in from one drama another happens. It's too much. However as one feels when a train wretch happens I can't look away even though I should. Perhaps this shows how great the author is in developing the characters that you can't help but follow them. So if you can handle drama and non-stops roller coaster rides, and not necessarily the fun kinds, then give this series a try.
Once you get to know these characters from Sea Breeze you'll want to know their individual stories. And if you liked the book Because of Low, you might want to give this one a try. In this series, as in most, you know the characters will end up together after some ups and downs but without being overly done with drama. Which is why this series light & fun with some surprises. And this particular book has a great story all on it's own.
