Number-one New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris has won numerous awards for her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, which has been adapted into the hit HBO show True Blood. In this 13th and final book, a murder rocks the town of Bon Temps and Sookie is arrested for the crime. After making bail, she sets out to clear her name - but her investigation only leads to more deaths.

After following Sookie for outrageous ups & downs emotional & physical roller coasters for years I was certainly ready for the end to come. And while it worked out the way I assumed it would, it left me wanting more of a epilog type closer. Where we know exactly where everyone ended up. Just a short paragraph that would bring us up to speed with Sookie & the gangs life a year or two later. Aside from that it was an ok read.

It isn’t easy being Sunday’s child, not when you’re the rather overlooked and unhappy youngest sibling to sisters named for the other six days of the week. Sunday’s only comfort is writing stories, although what she writes has a terrible tendency to come true. When Sunday meets an enchanted frog who asks about her stories, the two become friends. Soon that friendship deepens into something magical. One night, Sunday kisses her frog goodbye and leaves, not realizing that her love has transformed him....

This teen labeled book is certainly different from the what teens are reading now. With it's beautiful peasant girl, a frog prince etc.. it's a refreshing change from darker vampire & werewolf stories. The author did a nice job adding entertaining twists to well know stories. While I would suggest buying the book to read to the littles for bedtime, the narrator does such a wonderful job with the story telling that you might just want to play it for them. So I would recommend this lovely story mostly for pre-teens & under.

Being a huge fan of a Good book series I would add The Lost Angels to my collection. The plots are a bit predicable in that from the start there will be a girl in danger, a guy or angel in this case who just happens to be handsome & strong beyond all reasoning saving her out of no where. At least the author truly makes it a fun ride. Gildart Jackson does a great job with the voices as usual. However his choice of using such a weird vocal pitch for the Angel of Death can be off putting from time to time. The best part of the book is the end when the author sets up the story for her up coming book which by the bit you get sounds like it's going to be worth the wait. I'm truly looking forward to that one.

You don't have to be a House of Night fan to enjoy this novella. However, if you have read the series you'll certainly want to know why & how the beautiful vampire we all love to hate started to become so evil. Although I expected more to the story it still was entertaining to listen to & thanks to Caitlin Davies' wonderful narration it just got better. If you are a fan you'll want to get this great back story.

Lady Aline Marsden was brought up for one reason: to make an advantageous marriage to a member of her own class. Instead, she willingly gave her innocence to John McKenna, a servant on her father’s estate. Their passionate transgression was unforgivable - John was sent away, and Aline was left to live in the countryside - an exile from London society - and he took her love. Now McKenna has made his fortune, and he has returned - more boldly handsome and more mesmerizing than before.

The great thing about Lisa Kleypas' writing is that she takes a predictable storyline and adds enough twists to them that it keeps you going. Although one can always guess the ending before starting the story, she takes you on a ride that makes you long for the predictable happy ending while making you fall for & admire the male leads like Mr.Simon Hunt,Leo Hathaway & now McKenna. It's also great how she mingles the characters from different stories together to make a world where these beloved characters really come to life.

I have read all in the series and each one is better than the last but Robert Petkoff truly brings them it life. Can't wait for the rest of the books to be on audio.
