  • Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde

With dramatic flair, Jeff Guinn delivers the definitive portrait of Bonnie and Clyde. These media-savvy outlaws appealed to America's Depression-era hunger for swashbuckling characters. Glowing radio and newspaper reports transformed these "public enemies" into celebrities - much like the cinema gangsters of the time.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I thought it was very informative.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I'm glad it told about the upbringing of Bonnie and Clyde's parents and themselves. It showed more of the kind of people they were and why.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh I suppose you could. I listen at work so it might take a few days to finish.

    Any additional comments?

This story just shows how messed up the media get the information. Nice to hear the whole story!!

  • Augustus: The Life of Rome's First Emperor

Caesar Augustus has been called history's greatest emperor. It was said he found Rome made of clay and left it made of marble. With a senator for a father and Julius Caesar for a great-uncle, he ascended the ranks of Roman society with breathtaking speed. His courage in battle is still questioned yet his political savvy was second to none. He had a lifelong rival in Mark Antony and a 51-year companion in his wife, Livia. And his influence extended perhaps further than that of any ruler who has ever lived.

    John says: "Outstanding!"
    "Interesting but kind of slow"

Would you be willing to try another book from Anthony Everitt? Why or why not?

    Depends on the book.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

    The narrator was fine.

Was Augustus worth the listening time?

It was interesting but I was hoping for more of a story not just the facts.
