For Hannah Shapiro, a beautiful young American student, this particular nightmare began eight years ago in Los Angeles, when Jack Morgan, owner of Private--the world's most exclusive detective agency--saved her from a horrific death. She has fled her country, but can't flee her past. The terror has followed her to London, and now it is down to former Royal Military Police Sergeant Dan Carter, head of Private London, to save her all over again.

Private London ranks only second to Patterson's Private book about the London Olympics. Just when I think he has to be burning out, he hits another homer!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I most definitely would recommend this book to anyone, young or older! In fact I did immediately after finishing it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Water for Elephants?

The final chapter was the most memorable, although all the book was one I'll never forget.

What about David LeDoux and John Randolph Jones ’s performance did you like?

The performers must have been selected carefully because each was perfect for his part. BUT the elder Jake was terrific!

Who was the most memorable character of Water for Elephants and why?

Absolutely the 90...or 93 ...year old Jake.

Would you listen to Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor again? Why?

I would most definitely listen to this novel again. With military action involved, you just can't catch it all the first time!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Roarke would be my favorite character...strong convictions and loyal to his men.

Which character ??? as performed by Steven Weber ??? was your favorite?

Weber performed all characters well but he really seemed to get "into" Noland & Roarke.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The book is not a "laughing" type of book but I sure did cry! Anyone who is connected with the military, either past or present, couldn't help having a visceral reaction to this novel!

    Any additional comments?

This novel is not just a "guy" novel. Ladies, give it a try!
