Powerful story, extremely well read (you can easily picture the reader as the author).
Demonstrates the impact that just one individual can have when standing against a powerful tide.
Forest was a VERY interesting character. The book was well written, but much of the detail could (should) have been pared down to about half of this size. Still, it was a very interesting listen and I enjoyed it.
As a HUGE Python fan, the stories were of moderate interest, but there wasn't a lot of humor here. I have already read some of the histories of the "Pythons", so others may fine this a bit more informative than I did. Out of almost 5 hours of material, there were about 10 minutes of laughs - a few minutes on SNL were a riot.
Focus on the subject!! If you were a novice to the Civil War, than this would be a good place to learn of the build up to this battle. To someone who already knows the basics and wants to know more about the Battle of Antietam, much more time should be spent on the Maryland campaign. This doesn't even get to 2nd Bull Run until more than halfway through the book, leaving only about 2 hours for Maryland!
