Internationally acclaimed author Angela Davis-Gardner draws inspiration from Puccini’s Madame Butterfly to craft this deftly imagined furthering of the famed opera’s main characters. Benjamin Franklin Pinkerton and his wife Kate bring a three-year-old Japanese boy home to their Illinois farm. But when their neighbors learn the truth about the boy’s heritage, the fallout is devastating.

This is a beautifully written story and one well worth the credit!
I believe teachers will one day use this book as an example of the
damage done to others with thoughtless behavior and how it can reverberate
through time causing great difficulties, all this and wrapped in the gift of a story I would not have wanted to miss. It is so much more!

On a rainy November day, police detectives Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein are summoned to a mysterious traffic accident: a woman has fallen from a pedestrian bridge onto a car driving underneath. According to a witness, the woman may have been pushed. The investigation leads Pia and Oliver to a small village, and the home of the victim, Rita Cramer. On a September evening eleven years earlier, two seventeen-year-old girls vanished from the village without a trace.

If you could sum up Snow White Must Die in three words, what would they be?

    Heaven Save Us!

What other book might you compare Snow White Must Die to and why?

It compares easily to our best American mystery writers. I am now a real fan of Nele Neunaus! The story is multi faceted, has great depth, many characters well defined while it highlights the high cost of human frailty.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no, it is more fun to draw this one out to 2 or 3 days to ponder and enjoy it more.

    Any additional comments?

I am just delighted to be able to read great books like this one from other Countries. Don't miss this one.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I did like this book as a diversion from the heavyweight mysteries that have so much more to them. I would give it a three at best but sometimes light is right for the moment.

Would you be willing to try another one of Khristine Hvam’s performances?

    Yea

    Any additional comments?

A nice fantasy love story for a day when you do not wish to engage but just enjoy something light. Not for the serious minded who want an intense story. I am sure there are lots of folks who enjoy this sort of book.

The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. Such a great story of how these awesome dogs give all they are to their partners You could gush a long time about them but this story will show you from the inside how incredible they are when teamed with their Partners. Mr.Crais' understanding of the people who work with these animals and how they become a real team in heart as well as their amazing accomplishments makes this book a must have.

    Yes, It was well done.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

A music therapist who thrives on helping others, Kendra Michaels cherishes the ordinary life she has achieved after stem cell surgery restored her sight. The skills she perfected during those sightless years - the ability to pick up the most subtle audio, olfactory, and tactile cues in the world around her - coupled with her laser-sharp mind - have made her a uniquely potent observer and problem solver. Kendra’s uncanny way of connecting the dots is as baffling to law enforcement as it is legendary.

No, however, this book is a very good audio choice. The story is interesting and complex. It is well worth my credit.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Elisabeth Rodgers?

    Yes

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, More than One. I found this book more interesting than some because it is different, and I found it intelligent not far-fetched which can really disappoint sometimes. Yet, I often enjoy a good fantasy as well.

    Any additional comments?

On the edge of your seat page turner it isn't, but I enjoyed it very much. I recommend it.

Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
