I LOVED this audiobook. This is not my genre but it caught my eye and I listened to it in one day! Didn't want to "use up" an audiobook in one day but I couldn't help it. As a young adult, I always enjoyed reading the short stories called "Drama in real life" in Readers Digest, and while this is fiction it reminded me of that memory. I am getting the prequel to this now. It didn't bother me not to have read the first one- I think it easily stands alone.

If you could sum up Ransom in three words, what would they be?

    Adventurous historical romance

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ransom?

I can remember the first time I read this many years ago and given the numberof boo ks I have read, that is significant.

Which character – as performed by Susan Duerden – was your favorite?

    Alex

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes once I sped up narrative and got used to it.

    Any additional comments?

Don't be discouraged by the beginning narrative. It gets better, especially at 1.25x. And you get into the story. It's worth any effort of adjustment (if you like historical action packed romance books).

    Sure

What was one of the most memorable moments of Moonshifted?

    Lots of action

What does Tai Sammons bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is okay, read a smidgen too slow, I upped the speed to 1.25x and it worked for me.

Where does Spying in High Heels rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Is it the best book ever? No, but its not meant to be. It is a cheerful, fun listen and I am very glad they put it and 3 more on Audible. Bring more like it!

The man was more than Leslie could handle! She'd expected a lot of publicity for Dr. Peter Havistock - the hunk had survived a plane crash when he was a kid, spent nearly 14 years living with a stone-age tribe in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, and returned to civilization to write a best-selling book about it. But his tour of colleges was getting wild. Then he announced on Harry King Live that he was a virgin! And that he was looking for a wife! And that he'd like to marry HER! Something had to give.

    Overall

I have gotten so used to not worrying over books I purchase from Audible that I did not even think to listen to a sample of the reader. Its AWFUL! Monotone with a lisp. No character. I think I listened for 4 minutes before turning it off and calling Audible. And I am NOT picky!!

It all started with Whitney "Pink" Pearl's bank statement. More than $200,000 mysteriously showed up in her account...along with a paper trail linking her to embezzling from the charity she'd been hired to safeguard!

I also found myself surprised at how good this book was. I would consider it a mystery or maybe a romantic suspense, but overall it is just a good fiction book. I am particular about what I like and never write reviews, so I hope you will find this helpful and will give the book a shot. (The reader is heavy on the Texan accent but you get past it very quickly- and being from Texas myself I don't know anyone who talks like that! But it doesn't affect the enjoyment of the book.. )
