I loved this one!! While it took me a while to get used to a new reader, once I did , I was fine. I found the topic very timely and gave a interesting spin to current events (albeit fiction - I hope) . Loved the depth of the female character and hope the ending is foreshadowing a sequel.
I took some time before purchasing this book based on the comments comparing John Puller negatively to Jack Reacher. I disagree with those reviewers. I am a big Reacher fan but feel Puller is his own man. The story line was compelling and I liked both Puller and Cole. I hope to see some more of him.
This book was terrific. I debated between listening and reading and am glad I chose to listen. The readers brought this fantastic story to life. The charactors were very real and brought this important period of history to life . It was real to me - the good the bad and the ugly. When I finished the book today I was sad to lose the daily interaction with the charactors - and I felt hope for their futures. I would strongly recommend.
I read some of the reviews that stated that this was not a good example of Baldacci's work . I strongly disagree - I really enjoyed the characters - I hope to see the sisters in future books. I enjoyed the story and did not have ANY trouble following the various sub plots. While the Camel Club series remains my favorite- I really enjoyed this one too. Ron McLarty continues to do justice to the writing.
