A dark power is at work, intent on gaining complete control of the CradleLand, the birthplace of the still-young world. All that stands in the Power's way is one troublesome line of humans: descendants of Seth. They are of the only remaining clan clinging to an all-but-dead faith. And yet it's from that faith that a prophecy threatens all plans of world dominion.

What disappointed you about Flight to Eden?

The narration is AWFUL. I did read the other reviews before I purchased this book; I just thought that people were being too picky and critical. Nope. It is just threat bad. Imagine listening to a brain damaged William Shatner reading a book out loud for the first time - not the first time out loud, the first time EVER... for 16 HOURS. I made it through 20 minutes and quit. SERIOUSLY.

I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us.

Was The Power of Six worth the listening time?

I am disappointed with this book; but to be fair, I only know the series because of the movie so perhaps my expectations were not accurate. Still, I find that the story is a bit juvenile, even for the YA section.

What did you like best about this story?

Book 3 goes much deeper into a world I thought I understood. Roth reveals a great truth about life; that despite all that we may know, our external and internal worlds are so much deeper and complex than we can imagine.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The story is really easy to get pulled into and there were times when I would find myself listening for hours at a time - then there are those chapters that demanded I stop and digest all that was happening.

    Any additional comments?

Don't be put off by some of the negative reviews. Roth has delivered a cohesive and well written trilogy, in which she bravely allows her characters to develop and realize their full potential.

Stephen Leeds, AKA 'Legion,' is a man whose unique mental condition allows him to generate a multitude of personae: hallucinatory entities with a wide variety of personal characteristics and a vast array of highly specialized skills. As the story begins, Leeds and his 'aspects' are drawn into the search for the missing Balubal Razon, inventor of a camera whose astonishing properties could alter our understanding of human history and change the very structure of society.

Would you listen to Legion again? Why?

Legion has an interesting plot, an intriguing narrator, and is wonderfully performed. Oliver Wyman artfully breathes life into Sanderson's words and characters. This, perhaps, is why it left me so... frustrated. I was enjoying the challenge of this tale so much when, like an insensitive (inexperienced?) lover, it climaxed without warning and rapidly rushed to resolution. I don't think I would listen to Legion again, but I would listen to another in the same series. Gifted writing is not a substitute for a satisfying ending. Do that again, Mr Sanderson, and you're cut off for good.

Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

Would you listen to The Art of Racing in the Rain again? Why?

Absolutely. This was a truly unexpected gem of a tale and Christopher Welch really understands the narrators inner world. The writing and narration go perfectly together.

What did you like best about this story?

The narrator's point of view is wonderfully unique. He is full of the insights and wisdom that come from being a "Zen" like observer of those around him; as well as the fallibility and emotional impulsivity of interacting with our loved ones on a daily basis.

    Any additional comments?

This is a story that lingers. It is a wonderfully and painfully human story about love, family, healing, and the power of keeping your eyes focused on the road ahead.

Would you listen to The Thirteenth Tale again? Why?

I typically dont re-read stories but I would like to review several parts. There are many details that I thought I had nailed down but I totally missed some key clues!

Who was your favorite character and why?

The staff of both houses (past and present) are so important. As intimate yet outside observers, they are the only ones who know "the truth"

    Any additional comments?

It is a long story but not a minute is wasted. Beautiful.
