"Sam the Man!"
Seriously, Sam Brower is a fantastically awesome human being. The story is truly captivating! I appreciate the detail to the timeline.
The narrator is slightly annoying with his mispronunciation of names and places.
Would love any other books in the future from Sam Brower.
"Incredible insight into instincts!"
This book should be on the shelf of every parents bookcase. The author has a gifted insight into psychiatry and understanding even the most difficult of children. Now as an adult, I am thankful and relieved to realize, through this book, that my personal fight with anxiety, depression, etc. is most likely due to my traumatic experience as an infant.
Now I can use this to help understand myself and my family better; as well as help other children who have had a difficult start in life because of various trauma.
"T M I"
This book was like listening to a police report. I love true crime stories, however, this was like listening to a police scanner…from the past. May be interesting for some people, but, I found the details of every tiny thing to be annoying.
"Fantastically fake!"
I LOVED this story! It was as captivating as some of the other "Plig" books I have read….however, as one who enjoys non-fiction, I was grossly disappointed when I found out this was a fictional story.
That being said, it's a good "story" with a good narrator.
"Wait…it's over??"
Just as I hit the climactic peak of this book, it ended. It reminded me of when I was in Jr. High, I would write short stories…just to have my story end abruptly with,
"Not bad, but not great."
Many of the books that I really enjoy I will listen to again for a second time and on special occasions…even a third. This book will not be on my list for a repeat. While it was a decent listen, I guess I didn't experience the
"Krakauer is full of KRAK! DON'T WASTE your $$$!"
Okay, first of all, I have to say that I ONLY purchased the book because of it's reference in on of my favorite reads
Fiction. I only enjoy non-fiction stories that I can learn something from.
Researched the annunciation of words before he verbally abused me with them.
Actually…no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I think this book is actually worse than
If possible, can I transport back in time and get the wasted 6 hours of my life back? Let me know if that's possible.
"Desperate for sure!"
I cannot say enough about this book. What an incredible story. One of the best things about this book is that there is quite a bit of psychological insight to the mindset of these people.
I highly recommend this book.
"Lost, yet Found...a great book!"
Fantastic listen! The story completely covers this child's experiences in fascinating details. The personality of Brent is nicely portrayed. Could NOT stop listening!
"Can you handle it?"
I thought this book would be incredibly interesting, but the fact is, it is too interesting, and too detailed! If that is possible. Even for a True Crime fanatic, this is just too much! Listeners should be sure they can handle a story like this before they start it. It definitely cuts right to the chase.Jaycee does a fantastic job narrating! I love the 'afterthoughts' she shares throughout the story.
