I'd never read/listened to an Annie Sanders story before and glad I did - I highly recommend this audo-book to anyone into good Chick-Lit.
Easy to follow straight from the beginning and it stayed that way. Wonderful relationship between Maddie & Lizzy and I found myself eagerly wondering what was going to happen next with their friendship, their business and family life. They go through a multitude of ups and downs (funny and sad) but they stay firm.
Jilly Bond as always is a great narrator and just makes the story a great listen to.
Found the story very boring .. it just went on and on about Lucy who had no actual story to listen too.. No more to say!
I didnt get too far into this book so i shouldnt judge .. maybe 4 chapters ... but i just couldnt get into it. I wasnt use to the Aussie accented narration (even though i am one!) and i found the story boring.
Disappointed as i have loved all of Jojo's. Other books
Enjoyable .. have read the other books so was familiar with the story but it did take me a bit to really get into it and have that .. "I wonder what's going to happen next" feeling. I would still recommend it as a light listen to/read. Just keep in mind its a very light story
Based on an absolute love of dogs and recommendations from others, i downloaded this book and so glad i did. It was wonderful. I didnt want it to end but it could have finished at any point as it was such a satisfying read. It just got better and better ... Yes, a couple of tears but worth it. Its a must and a re-listen to!!!
Would recommend this book as a casual read but it is one of many in the series and the story is wearing a bit thin. But in saying that, i would still read the next installment (if there is one)
As always with Jojo Moyes, this was a great story. No need for a synopsis just to say highly recommended from a reader who found this author purely based on other reviews which were all correct. She has a way of writing which is so engrossing but still an easy enjoyable read.
What a great writer ... how can you write a story about a road trip and mathmatics, and make it exciting and fun .. but this author can.
Such a great listen to. I was glued from the beginning. The loveable Mum and 2 kids from the wrong side battling life. A rich depressed guy in lots of trouble with his IT business.
They end up in a road trip together to fulfil the dream of the daughter, living in the once luxury car, battling a farting dog, food poisoning, motion sickness ... its warts and all
But the bond that develops is just lovely .. its a great book
Basic story, 2 people coming out of their own failed romances, rocky start, they are happy then an expected hic-up strikes.
Easy to get through ... story was very normal, nothing exciting. I kept waiting for something really exciting to happen but it just didnt.
Got through it ... not a keeper
I know this book has received great reviews but i found it quite dull. Ive had a poor run lately in my picking of audio books so was determined to give this one every chance but it was an effort. Im not saying it was bad, i just found it boring .. no "what going to happen next" or "cant wait to resume where i left off". I just listened to the lives of the characters and waited for the end.
I know this book was a finalist in the recent ChitLit awards and yes it was enjoyable but there was that extra something missing. I wasn't hanging out to find out what happens next .. I was quite happy to keep listening and plodding on with the story and just waiting for the end.
Not saying it wasn't enjoyable. You'll get cake recipes and cooking tips and the story itself was OK but just average. Girl loses job, spends her redundancy on opening up a cake store, makes new friends, learns from her old grandpa, meets a guy etc
Nice story .. I actually listened to most of it whilst cooking but at times, had to make myself focus on the story
