  • The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (Expanded and Updated)

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 4 mins)
    • By Timothy Ferriss
    • Narrated By Ray Porter

This expanded edition includes dozens of practical tips and case studies from readers who have doubled their income, overcome common sticking points, and reinvented themselves using the original book. Also included are templates for eliminating email and negotiating with bosses and clients, how to apply lifestyle principles in unpredictable economic times, and the latest tools, tricks, and shortcuts for living like a diplomat or millionaire without being either.

    suzanne says: "Step 3: PROFIT!!!"
"Excellent even if you just apply 20% of it."

Just like the Pareto equation, this book will change your life even if you apply 20% of its contents to your life. Some of it you may not be able to do because of your career or goals. Some of it will require a very open mind, but I can reassure you that even at that 20% you will change your life to a better one. Priceless.

  • Spain: A Unique History

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 56 mins)
    • By Stanley G. Payne
    • Narrated By Kevin Pierce

From bloodthirsty conquest to exotic romance, stereotypes of Spain abound. This new volume by distinguished historian Stanley G. Payne draws on his half-century of experience to offer a balanced, broadly chronological survey of Spanish history from the Visigoths to the present. Who were the first “Spaniards”? Is Spain a fully Western country? Was Spanish liberalism a failure? Examining Spain's unique role in the larger history of Western Europe, Payne reinterprets key aspects of the country's history.

    Richard says: "An Academic Wonder"
"The narrator slaughters the spanish language"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator ineptitude towards Spanish pronunciation.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Spain?

    Unique book. Horrendous narration.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kevin Pierce?

Anyone. Even my 9 year old son.

Did Spain inspire you to do anything?

Probably teach the narrator Spanish pronunciation.

    Any additional comments?

"This book makes me dislike Bill Maher"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The format is horrible. No need to repeat "New rule" every 30 seconds.

What was most disappointing about Bill Maher’s story?

his arrogance. I agree completely with his views, but his cockiness is unbearable.

How could the performance have been better?

Don't say "New rule" every 30 seconds.

  • The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By Sam Harris
    • Narrated By Sam Harris

In this explosive new book, Sam Harris tears down the wall between scientific facts and human values, arguing that most people are simply mistaken about the relationship between morality and the rest of human knowledge. Harris urges us to think about morality in terms of human and animal well-being, viewing the experiences of conscious creatures as peaks and valleys on a "moral landscape".

gerald says: "The book says what many feel, but fear to say"
"It will soon become a sociology classic"

Brilliantly written, brilliantly delivered, this book will become as relevant as the works of Kant, Descartes or Rousseau some day. Life-changing.
