"Always good"
I love Robyn Carr's Virgin River series and this one is good but not my favorite. There were 4 different romances going on in this book so it was confusing at times to keep up with each couple. I enjoy having a "main" romance with one sub-plot romance going on but 4 was quite busy. I'm still giving it 5 stars because I love the author and narrator. The two combined cannot miss! You won't waste a credit but it is not as good as the others in the series.
"Fell in love with Andrew and Cam!"
I loved this story although the author really, really, really drew out the love scenes. You pretty much guess why from the onset (although it is not confirmed until near the end). They talked about almost having sex for 80% of the book so when they finally get together you know something bad is about to happen to change it. When Cam gets the news you really hurt for her since she has had such crappy luck with guys in her short life. This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster and the characters will stick in your mind for days. I can't wait until this author's next book. Well done!!
"Wow...words will be tough with this one."
Sad, Sweet, Inspirational
Hunter. He seems like a lost soul with no really family or connections. Through the story you watch him grow up and turn into a real man. The things he sees and experiences through war are rough and he has a very forgiving heart. It gives you hope that some of these guys coming back from overseas have a different side to them - that anyone can love or be loved.
I don't know if I can say I had a favorite because this was a difficult book. I was so sad at so many points and through the characters witnessed a lot of heartbreak. Sometimes I had to put it down because it was hard to listen to the things they both went through.
No, you will need to put it down, it is difficult to listen sometimes. It is a great book and in the end you will be glad you finished it but there is a lot of sadness and death.
This is not a book that I would listen to again but I'm really glad I made myself experience it.
"Not this one"
I don't know. I normally love Sophie Kinsella and have read many of her books. I remember laughing so much my eyes watered but this book I couldn't even finish. This book was not funny it was silly and predictable. In my 10 year history of Audible this is only the 3rd book I was unable to continue until the end.
I would get something from Sophie Kinsella again but I would really read the reviews much closer and make sure I don't waste another credit.
The narrator wasn't bad, I don't know if it was her accent but I never really felt the emotions or humor of the story (maybe that is why the book seemed so bad.)
Silly. Just not worth listening because it was too predictable.
"Narrator excellent, too bad story wasn't"
A story that didn't act like the reader was stupid. This was the most ridiculous story I have listened to and I almost didn't make it to the end.
That it dragged on, and on, and on, and on. I got to the point where I didn't care about the characters anymore. There was so much "chatter" it seemed like she was just trying to fill pages (with nonsense!)
She has a fantastic voice and makes all the characters different. If it hadn't been for her I don't think I would have finished the book.
I kept saying over and over in my head "you've got to be kidding me!" It was bad. Don't waste you credits like I did.
"Better than the first"
I liked Beautiful Disaster but Travis always seemed kind of sick in his over crazy attraction for Abby. When hearing the story from his side (what is in his head) it made sense. I know several reviews have complained about the ending, the "where they are now" but, I thought it was sweet and I was happy to see they were still together.
I look forward to Jamie McGuire's next book (whatever it will be). Great author and both narrators for both books were excellent choices. Fantastic job!!
"Out of order and not the best"
I hate this was listed as book 4 when it was really book 5 (Audible doesn't have book 4 - Eric's story) but I was glad to hear he was happy in this book. I didn't have a problem with the story line (probably because I have listened to all of the other books and I knew what to expect) but it didn't flow. The relationships seemed forced. At one point Trey confesses to Brian that he loved him (a big step) then within 2 minutes he is with Ethan and realizes he is over Brian (a 15 year relationship) and now is in love with Ethan. The 3-way love also didn't work. Narrator was still excellent but the story not so much.
"Painfully loved this story"
As much as this story is too "out there" for me (not into bondage) the author/narrator pulled it off. Parts of the story I did have to skip forward because I'm a little too squeamish for that kind of stuff but the actual love story was good. Jac seems very sweet but I think in the real world they would both need therapy. Keeping this as a fantasy it was a great ride.
"Just keeps getting better"
I loved the first Sinner's book so I was looking forward to this one too. Sed and Jessica's story was excellent. In the first book you saw Sed as a broken hearted guy that used women as toys to forget his true love. This book is the love story. As much as you sometimes hated Sed in the first book you will fall in love with him in this book. The narrator, Justine, is excellent (yet again!)
"A little too young for me."
Story is sweet and well written but too young (16-17 year olds). If this was set with even college age it wouldn't seem so off. I think for the depth of the feelings for these characters it didn't match their age.
Not a surprise. Slow, sweet ending just like the start.
I really enjoyed the differences in the voices. However, again they sounded way to old for the age of the characters.
No laughs or cries just as "awe isn't that sweet" feeling.
"Loved this one!"
I have never read the print version but this audiobook was great. The narrator was wonderful and I can't wait to download the next one.
I can't pick one out, there were too many.
She is great. I've never listened to her before but I will put her on my favorite list.
Some part were a little beyond my verson of normal and not something I would do or want to do but the way it was told kept looking forward to what would happen next.
