Carlin Reed lives in fear, off the grid, moving from place to place. So Battle Ridge, Wyoming, a small town in the middle of nowhere, seems like a good place to lie low for a while. But after becoming cook and housekeeper to cattle rancher Zeke Decker, Carlin suspects that she’s made her first mistake. Rugged, sexy, and too distracting for his own good, Zeke is pure temptation mixed with something deep and primal that makes Carlin feel almost safe. Soon things are getting way too hot in the kitchen.

I love Linda Howard's writing but this must be one of her older books that was updated. The story is good but the characters do not have the chemistry that some of her newer books seem to have. The narrator was good but not my favorite. Most of LH's books are so good you can't put it down because you want to find out what happens next...this isn't one of them.

Lottie just knows that her boyfriend is going to propose during lunch at one of London’s fanciest restaurants. But when his big question involves a trip abroad, not a trip down the aisle, she’s completely crushed. So when Ben, an old flame, calls her out of the blue and reminds Lottie of their pact to get married if they were both still single at 30, she jumps at the chance. No formal dates - just a quick march to the altar and a honeymoon on Ikonos, the sun-drenched Greek island where they first met years ago. Their family and friends are horrified. Fliss, Lottie’s older sister, knows that Lottie can be impulsive - but surely this is her worst decision yet.

What would have made Wedding Night better?

I don't know. I normally love Sophie Kinsella and have read many of her books. I remember laughing so much my eyes watered but this book I couldn't even finish. This book was not funny it was silly and predictable. In my 10 year history of Audible this is only the 3rd book I was unable to continue until the end.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sophie Kinsella again?

I would get something from Sophie Kinsella again but I would really read the reviews much closer and make sure I don't waste another credit.

What didn’t you like about the narrators’s performance?

The narrator wasn't bad, I don't know if it was her accent but I never really felt the emotions or humor of the story (maybe that is why the book seemed so bad.)

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Silly. Just not worth listening because it was too predictable.

What would have made Ain't Misbehaving better?

A story that didn't act like the reader was stupid. This was the most ridiculous story I have listened to and I almost didn't make it to the end.

What was most disappointing about Molly Cannon’s story?

That it dragged on, and on, and on, and on. I got to the point where I didn't care about the characters anymore. There was so much "chatter" it seemed like she was just trying to fill pages (with nonsense!)

What does Susan Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a fantastic voice and makes all the characters different. If it hadn't been for her I don't think I would have finished the book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I kept saying over and over in my head "you've got to be kidding me!" It was bad. Don't waste you credits like I did.

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder. In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. Just when he thought he was invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees. Every story has two sides. In Jamie McGuire's New York Times best seller Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it's time to see the story through Travis's eyes.

I liked Beautiful Disaster but Travis always seemed kind of sick in his over crazy attraction for Abby. When hearing the story from his side (what is in his head) it made sense. I know several reviews have complained about the ending, the "where they are now" but, I thought it was sweet and I was happy to see they were still together.

I look forward to Jamie McGuire's next book (whatever it will be). Great author and both narrators for both books were excellent choices. Fantastic job!!

I hate this was listed as book 4 when it was really book 5 (Audible doesn't have book 4 - Eric's story) but I was glad to hear he was happy in this book. I didn't have a problem with the story line (probably because I have listened to all of the other books and I knew what to expect) but it didn't flow. The relationships seemed forced. At one point Trey confesses to Brian that he loved him (a big step) then within 2 minutes he is with Ethan and realizes he is over Brian (a 15 year relationship) and now is in love with Ethan. The 3-way love also didn't work. Narrator was still excellent but the story not so much.

As much as this story is too "out there" for me (not into bondage) the author/narrator pulled it off. Parts of the story I did have to skip forward because I'm a little too squeamish for that kind of stuff but the actual love story was good. Jac seems very sweet but I think in the real world they would both need therapy. Keeping this as a fantasy it was a great ride.

The second book in the Sinners on Tour series features lead singer Sedric Lionheart, who became a playboy after his fiancee, Jessica, broke his heart. Trapped on a summer tour together for two entire months - but stubbornly desperate to stay apart - they find a million steamy reasons why they had that lovin' feeling in the first place.

I loved the first Sinner's book so I was looking forward to this one too. Sed and Jessica's story was excellent. In the first book you saw Sed as a broken hearted guy that used women as toys to forget his true love. This book is the love story. As much as you sometimes hated Sed in the first book you will fall in love with him in this book. The narrator, Justine, is excellent (yet again!)

There was something wicked about Beau that drew me to him. What was wrong with me? Why did I want to sin so badly? Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.

If you could sum up The Vincent Boys: Extended and Uncut in three words, what would they be?

Story is sweet and well written but too young (16-17 year olds). If this was set with even college age it wouldn't seem so off. I think for the depth of the feelings for these characters it didn't match their age.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Not a surprise. Slow, sweet ending just like the start.

What does Kirby Heyborne and Shayna Thibodeaux bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really enjoyed the differences in the voices. However, again they sounded way to old for the age of the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No laughs or cries just as "awe isn't that sweet" feeling.

It's been months since Brian Sinclair, lead guitarist for the famous rock band Sinners, composed anything. Unable to write the music that once flowed so naturally, Brian is lost without his musical mojo. But when sexy psychology professor Myrna Evans comes on tour to study groupie mentality, Brian may have found the spark he needs to reignite his musical genius. When lust turns to love, will Brian be able to convince Myrna that what they have is more than just a fling, and that now that he's found his heart's muse, he doesn't want to live without her?

Would you consider the audio edition of Backstage Pass to be better than the print version?

I have never read the print version but this audiobook was great. The narrator was wonderful and I can't wait to download the next one.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Backstage Pass?

I can't pick one out, there were too many.

What about Justine O. Keef’s performance did you like?

She is great. I've never listened to her before but I will put her on my favorite list.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some part were a little beyond my verson of normal and not something I would do or want to do but the way it was told kept looking forward to what would happen next.

It's not every day that you get to move to New York City and reinvent yourself. I was tired of being boring, predictable Emma Mills. I was convinced that my life would be totally different in the Big Apple. And I was right. Jackson Reynard was irresistible and I had no plans on resisting him. Jackson was the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome and I was more than happy to let him sweep me off my feet. I expected a summer fling but instead I got a heart-stopping romance. I realized that I had met the love of my life. I just didn't realize that sometimes love isn't enough.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Who might enjoy this book? I don't know, it is hard for me to imagine anyone "enjoying" it. I listened to half of this book and it was so bad I stopped listening and downloaded other books. I finally ran out of credits and decided to go back and finish. It was painful. The narrator was just as bad as the story with all her strange giggles.

What could S. H. Kolee have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The only way this book could be more enjoyable is if it actually had a plot.

Would you be willing to try another one of Emily Durante’s performances?

No, I will put her on my do not listen list.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

It made me sick to my stomach becuse it was so stupid and most of the time I could say the words outloud before I heard them because the story was so predictable. If you are really unintelligent you might like this story.

Not that the story was bad it just wasn't as good as some of the old Linda Howard I remember. Killing seems to be okay and as normal as eating lunch or dinner and doesn't seem to bother anyone. I also didn't feel the attraction between the main two characters was well developed. I couldn't decide if it was the author or the narrator but in the end I decided it was both. I didn't hate it but could have done without it.
