Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling Series. I really like Angela's vocal range. She is able to make both the male and female characters unique and fitting to what I imagine the character is like.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I liked being able to read this while driving back and forth to/from work. 2 hours per day and when I just couldn't stop, then I continued while at home.

Tammy has always tried to be prepared for any calamity life might send her way but she never imagined a sexy, lion man-beast in her future. He’s stalking closer, growling at her, and she’s too terrified to even flee. Valiant hates humans. But when he gets a whiff of the adorable human female who has invaded his territory, he starts rethinking. Her fear scents of pure, sweet temptation and the closer he gets, the more appealing she becomes. Once he’s got his hands on her, he isn’t about to let her go. One thought will change his life. MINE!

Would you try another book from Laurann Dohner and/or Vanessa Chambers?

I have already bought other books in this series mainly because I REALLY like this series. Since I drive at least 2 hours a day, I wanted to enjoy my reading time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Breeze but even her character's voice didn't meet my expectations.

Would you be willing to try another one of Vanessa Chambers’s performances?

Although I did not think Vanessa was able to put a great voice into the male characters, I would listen to a performance with her. I don't think that she has enough range to give life to the male characters. The characters mostly sounded sarcastic, all the time, even when they were afraid/scared (lawyer and Pete). Tiger's voice was really disappointing.

I feel that to do justice (no pun intended) to this series, a male AND a female narrator are necessary (unless its Narrator: Phil Gigante).

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, if was done like the Hobbit / Lord of the Rings performance standard. I wouldn't if it was a straight to video type of movie. I can see Viggo Moretensen as Justice! Or even Slade...

Tatijana of the Dragonseekers spent centuries encased in ice with her sister, trapped in limbo between life and death, never speaking to a soul other than those who tormented her. Now, she has been freed from her frozen prison by an unknown descendent. Awakened in human form, Tatijana yearns to explore the modern world in which she now lives - a world with more mysteries than she is prepared for. Fenris Dalka has returned to the Carpathian Mountains after a long absence to be with his brother. He is scarred by centuries of battle, and every hard-won victory.

Where does Dark Lycan rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not my favorite of the Carpathian books but Dark Lycan is a great read. I really enjoyed Fenris Dalka and Tatijana's story and will enjoy listening to it again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dark Lycan?

I loved Tatijana's boldness and strong character. Near the beginning when she gets irritated with the humans who are hiding in the woods, had me laugh out loud.

What about Robert Sarkus’s performance did you like?

Enjoyed the narrator's voices for the many characters. I thought only a male reader would not do justice to this book but Robert Sarkus did a great job.

    Any additional comments?

A little confused about Tatijana and her background. Since she was also a decendant of the powerful Mage, I was disappointed that she limited herself to Dragon and Human forms but lacked Mage magic. I don't know if it's because the magic would not work on the Lycan.

What made the experience of listening to The Dark Highlander the most enjoyable?

Phil Gigante's voice is sooooo smooth and awesome! I loved his reading of my favorite highlander series. He brings ALL the characters to life.

What does Phil Gigante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice really brings the characters to life. I can see the facial expressions of the characters as he describes them. His ability to do the baritone voices reverberates through me while I'm listening the book. He snares me so well that I sometimes continue to sit in my car because I just can't "put down" the book!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Yes!

Window Rock, Arizona, is the last known location of Honor Roberts, who vanished when she was just 13. It was her only sanctuary from the Breed research that would surely have ended in her death - one such insidious experiment should, indeed, have killed her. That she lived is both a miracle - and a great mystery. Stygian's mission is to find Honor Roberts, no matter the cost. Now, with the help of Liza Johnson, assistant to the chief of the Navajo Nation, he is closer than ever to his goal. But will the discovery of Honor Roberts mean the destruction of the mating heat that has developed between Stygian and Liza?

Would you consider the audio edition of Stygian's Honor to be better than the print version?

No. I felt the narrator's male voices did not match the characters. Especially previous characters such as Dash and Jonas. She gave more of a brittish accent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Dog's humor throughout this book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Male character voices were weak. Hated Stygian and Jonas' voice.

    Any additional comments?

This book series really needs to have two narrators a male and female.

I absolutely LOVED this audio book! Was quite discouraged from listening to audio books after my first try but this book has redeemed my opinion! Laural Merlington was fabulous reading and Johanna Lindsey has always been a favorite author of mine! She carried the characters and her voice brought to life my imagination! I found myself laughing and smiling while listening to this one. I originally bought this book to listen to while I drive my 1-hr trip to work but couldn't stop! Ever chance I had, I turned this book on and have no idea what the heck I'll listen to tomorrow!! I'll definitely buy others by this author as well as by this narrator! Thank you Johanna and Laural!
