I read this book many years ago and thought my son and I would listen to it on one of our long drives over the summer. I sadly discovered that the dramatized version was not entirely true to the storyline I recall from the book. I have to say I enjoyed reading this book much more than listening to this version.
Of course it was because I had to listen to it to get to the next book in the series. I'm training for a marathon so I listened to most of this book while running; that is absolutely well spent time.
During parts of this book, I felt like someone was reading a Technical Order on a spaceship. Far too much time spent telling us about capabilities of the fleet and not enough time of the story line. Most of the technical information would be good as bonus material for the hard core group that really care.
I didn't really care for the narrator. She was a little over the top with attempts at changing her voice for different characters, especially some of the male characters.
Not this book.
The author devotes way too much time to repeat information from previous books in the series. Having read all previous books in the series, I can safely say that this was my least favorite of them all.
