This collection of short stories from the master of modern fiction is available only as an audiobook. In Blood and Smoke, Stephen King takes us inside a world of yearning and paranoia, isolation and addiction. It is the world of the smoker. In this audio-only collection, the now politically incorrect habit plays a key role in the fates of three different men.

Would you try another book from Stephen King and/or Stephen King?

Yes, but only based on reputation, not on this collection of shorts. It was awful! the stories all started out great, but then they just fizzled out!

What was most disappointing about Stephen King’s story?

I really liked the beginning of the first 2 stories, like they had a lot of potential to become great stories, but then they just ended, leaving the listener to think "what was that? why did I listen to that" I have no idea what the first story was about, the second left many open questions and desire to have known more, and the third was short and boring.

What about Stephen King’s performance did you like?

He has a great voice for story telling and knows how the lines are supposed to be delivered.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Blood and Smoke?

The first and third stories all together and expanded the second story.

No matter what you heard or thought about the movie version of Strip Tease, forget it. Film simply can’t catch the layers of humor, satire, and imagination that Pulitzer Prize-winning author Carl Hiaasen creates in each of his novels.

In Rip-Off!, 13 of today’s best and most honored writers of speculative fiction face a challenge even they would be hard-pressed to conceive: Pick your favorite opening line from a classic piece of fiction (or even non-fiction) - then use it as the first sentence of an entirely original short story.

Where does Rip-Off! rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Some of the stories were amazing and I wanted more, some were hard to get into and a little bit strange. Short stories can be like that though.

Would you recommend Rip-Off! to your friends? Why or why not?

sure - but see the above comment

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was really good. It helped the differences between the stories stand out.

Would you consider the audio edition of One Shot to be better than the print version?

I've only ever listened to the Jack Reacher novels, never read them.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes! I was in a constant state of trying to figure out the ending. I truly enjoyed every aspect of the suspense! It was really one of his best novels!

Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?

Of course, Jack Reacher is such an amazing character and Dick Hill IS Jack Reacher in my mind, but I also really liked the reporters character and story line.

    Any additional comments?

I can see why they chose this novel for thier first movie!

All the stories in this collection from Stephen King are related to the Vietnam War. King fans will recognize echoes of The Dark Tower series in the collection's first story, "Low Men in Yellow Coats." As the characters develop over the next four stories, King's version of the Vietnam War becomes one of his most frightening tales ever.

I'm not sure. The first story was great! The second was pretty good. The last 2 were just plain weird!

Would you be willing to try another book from Stephen King? Why or why not?

I like his novels, but am beginning to feel like his short stories aren't worth getting. I loved his earlier short stories, but the ones I have bought lately have been too strange.

When Leo spouts poetry at the guy holding Trevor.

Which character – as performed by Mark Deakins – was your favorite?

    Leo!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was so torn up over the death of one of the characters (don't want to give anything away). I was surprised and saddened over it!

Mikael Blomkvist, crusading journalist and publisher of the magazine Millennium, has decided to publish a story exposing an extensive sex trafficking operation between Eastern Europe and Sweden, implicating well-known and highly placed members of Swedish society, business, and government. On the eve of publication, the two reporters responsible for the story are brutally murdered.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - the full story of the trilogy must be told!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The charecters took forever to see a connection I saw right away and it bothered me. Otherwise it was pretty good overall.

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?

I love his voice and the way he speaks and the slight voice change he has for each charecter. When I saw the movie, I felt Daniel Craig spoke incorrectly because I wanted his voice to match the narrators from the books!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, especially because I was always looking for answers to questions, but it was way to long to do that :)

The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

What made the experience of listening to Dracula [Audible Edition] the most enjoyable?

I loved the multiple characters - it really added to the story!

Would you recommend Dracula [Audible Edition] to your friends? Why or why not?

I would with the caveat that if you don't know the original story, it's not as exciting as Hollywood implies - I liked the story, but it was really slow in places and did not have the intensity I expected.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

    The multiple voices were awesome!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Hmmm - it's been done before so it's hard to say... Maybe... The True Dracula Story

    Any additional comments?

It is told in pieces from multiple characters - a little disjointed at times, but fun to listen to!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I thought it had an amazing story with great characters and vision, but the climax and ending were a let down overall. I didn't know the story and I was expecting more adventure at the end and a more grandious escape. I also thought the wrap up of the characters at the end was also anti-climactic.

Would you recommend Journey to the Center of the Earth: A Signature Performance by Tim Curry to your friends? Why or why not?

yes - but only if they really liked adventure stories, knew about the ending, or I gave them a heads up about the end.

Which character – as performed by Tim Curry – was your favorite?

Main one - the story was from his point of view and therefore it biased me toward him.

Do you think Journey to the Center of the Earth: A Signature Performance by Tim Curry needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

no - it ended, going back into the story would be weird.
