The narrator sounds as if she is reading to a group of pre-schoolers. The overacting and terrible accents are grating. I feel as if I wasted my money, paying to be annoyed for nearly ten hours. The writing is also quite corny. I wonder if I bought this audiobook without listening to the sample or if the sample just didn't convey how poorly narrated it is? Basically, this just a very bad audiobook. Don't waste your money like I did.

This book was a pleasure to listen to. The narrator did an excellent job with the many different characters. The book was so well written that it brought the settings and characters to life. I felt an emotional response to certain characters, which is a sign of a very good writer. I like many genres, but I don't often enjoy stories about aliens and other worlds unless the the story is compelling and well written. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, although the ending left just a little to be desired. On the whole it was a great listen and I recommend this book.

He is respected in his community, tenacious in the courtroom, and happy at home with his wife, Laurie, and son, Jacob. But when a shocking crime shatters their New England town, Andy is blindsided by what happens next: his 14-year-old son is charged with the murder of a fellow student.

I quite enjoyed listening to this audiobook until the ending made me wish I hadn't listened at all. The narrator is very good and the characters are interesting. The ending just really sucked. And it's not just a sad/happy thing. It feels like I was so wrapped up in the lives of these characters and the author just pulled a cruel trick on me.

When Elspeth Noblin dies of cancer, she leaves her London apartment to her twin nieces, Julia and Valentina. These two American girls never met their English aunt; they only knew that their mother, too, was a twin, and Elspeth her sister. Julia and Valentina are semi-normal American teenagers - with seemingly little interest in college, finding jobs, or anything outside their cozy home in the suburbs of Chicago, and with an abnormally intense attachment to one another.

The story was very imaginative and the characters rich and interesting. The performance was outstanding. I truly hope that there is a sequel or better yet, a series of books like this from this wonderful author. Everything I have read of hers I have been quite impressed with, but this was definitely a favorite! I hated when it ended!

Wealthy Assistant D.A. Logan Montgomery needs to ruin his reputation - fast! That's the only way he'll be able to convince his father that he's not cut out to follow the family tradition of going into politics. His plan? To indulge in a very public fling with a woman whose family is a scandal in itself. It should have been the perfect solution....Only, the more time Logan spends with Catherine Luck, the more he realizes he'd give up his reputation--and everything else--for just one night in her bed.

It was boring, predictable and filled with cliche after cliche. It was as if the author just cut and pasted from a lot of boring romance novels without much substance. The only phrase missing was "heaving breasts." The narrator was fairly good. I wouldn't waste my time on anything else from this author.

Almost There begins at that moment when Nuala O'Faolain's life began to change. It tells the story of a life in subtle, radical, and unforeseen renewal. It is a tale of good fortune chasing out bad - of an accidental harvest of happiness. But it is also a provocative examination of one woman's experience of the "crucible of middle age."

    Overall

I've been listening to audiobooks for years and there is no better narrator than Scott Brick. His character's voices are clearly distinguishable from one another, he never mispronounces words, he always get's the inflections right and uses the correct emphasis on the words. In addition to flawless narration, it seems he's very particular about the quality of the book he chooses to narrate, like a superstar actor who has his pick of roles. This book is no exception. It is well written and exciting. It's a great listen!

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

The narration was excellent and the book was very exciting and convincingly written. I haven't enjoyed a Stephen King novel this much since "The Stand."

    "Appallingly bad narration!"
    Overall

It's hard to tell how good or bad this book is because the narration is so terrible. When she changes between characters it's like listening to someone using a stupid voice to mock someone, or perhaps an appallingly bad actress. She places the emphasis on the wrong words which I feel is an injustice to the author. The voices are irritating to listen to. I feel that this was a waste of my money. If you're interested in this book, do yourself a favor and read the printed version.
