"Not as good as the first"
I think Janet Evanovich is so funny and I really liked Metro Girl, the precursor to this book, but this one was just OK. It kept me interested and had some funny parts, but nothing great. If you are a fan of Evanovich, worth a listen. CJ Critt is a great narrator as well.
"Why is this so popular???"
Where to begin???
I just read about 5 bad reviews and I can't say it better myself, so just read through all the bad reviews on here....I can say that I was disgusted by the main character and Christian. It was unrealistic, the dialogue was horrible, and just generally pissed me off!
No!!
"This was LOOOOOONG and not much point to it"
I love a long book, but this one was kind of ridiculously long. It must be like 1200 printed pages. I also like a weird book, but this was weird in a bad way- creepy sexual things going on with underage girls, etc. It never explained a lot of what it rambled on about in the end....like a mystery with out a conclusion. Not sure what the point was of this book or all the hype about it. At least I was entertained enough to finish it. I also enjoyed the narrators, especially the men. Won't listen or read another book by this author, though.
Where do I start??
No
Stated above.....narration, slightly interesting story.
"Amazing"
This biography is so amazing to me...I could not stop listening. A Jewish experience during WWII, but not gruesome. Definitely worth a credit.
"Sad, Intruiging, inspiring...."
This should be required high school reading. A great first hand account of the war experiences in Iraq just a few short years ago. Highly recommmend.
"Makes me want to go to New Orleans"
I have listened to a couple of these Dave Robicheaux (sp?) novels and I really enjoyed this one. The story is interesting and I kept wanting to know what happens. I like how many of the characters and not "good" or "bad" but are conflicted and have both good and quailites about them. I love how the author paints a vivid picture of the area, the landscape, the food, and the culture of New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Makes me want to visit!
"Just wanted it to be over most of the time...."
I was bored and I didn't get the point. His life is interesting to a point, but not enough to write a book about. And his narration is very monotone and hard to listen to after a while. I wouldn't use a credit on this one.
