What made the experience of listening to The Fire Rose the most enjoyable?

this is just the kind of fantasy I like, magic and romance, a little danger but not overwhelming

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Fire Rose?

when the wolf attacks the bad guy and both Jason and Rose are confronted with the reality of their situation

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

she's not terribly good at male voices. Sometimes too dynamic, needed more variation in her tone

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes. It did listen to it several hours at a time while knitting

    Any additional comments?

I love this author and the Elemental Masters series, looking forward to seeing other new titles available

  • Hard Magic: Book I of the Grimnoir Chronicles

Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

Clinton says: "Not what I thought it was going to be."
"Loved tha narrator, hated the story"

What would have made Hard Magic better?

Not so much graphic violence. More victories for the good guys

Would you ever listen to anything by Larry Correia again?

probably not, he's the kind of author who hates his characters

Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have seen him act, no idea he was this good

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Hard Magic?

I would have toned down all the descriptions of graphic death. I don't need to hear about how blood and giuts are spilled

    Any additional comments?

I like to have some breaks in the action. Some times when the good guys are rewarded for their fight. I couldn't even finish this one, it was too hopeless for me. Isn't life hopeless enough without entertainment being hopeless also?
