Who is the Racketeer? And what does he have to do with the judge's untimely demise? His name, for the moment, is Malcolm Bannister. Job status? Former attorney. Current residence? The Federal Prison Camp near Frostburg, Maryland. On paper, Malcolm's situation isn't looking too good these days, but he's got an ace up his sleeve: He knows who killed Judge Fawcett, and he knows why. The judge's body was found in his remote lakeside cabin. There was no forced entry, no struggle, just two dead bodies: Judge Fawcett and his young secretary.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this book to be read instead of listened to because it was hard to understand what what happening. I became bored easier than I usually do and my mind would wander so I would have to go back a relisten.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I definitely did not know what would happen until the ending.

What aspect of J. D. Jackson’s performance would you have changed?

I don't think his performance was bad. It was just the way the book was written. I usually like John Grisham but I think he is better to read instead of listen to.
