In the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit, not many murder victims die almost a decade after the crime. So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot by a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the body is still fresh, but all other evidence is virtually nonexistent. Now Bosch and rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are tasked with solving what turns out to be a highly charged, politically sensitive case.

It's a typical Michael C. book, I'm a fan and will continue reading as you will too.
it's not bad but it's just average. Two police officer or detective's solving an old cold case that lacks any thrills or suspense. Never felt the need to continue reading was never on the edge of my seat.

It's Dr. Kay Scarpetta's birthday, and she's about to head to Miami for a vacation with Benton Wesley, her FBI profiler husband, when she notices seven pennies on a wall behind their Cambridge house. Is this a kids' game? If so, why are all of the coins dated 1981 and so shiny they could be newly minted? Her cellphone rings, and Detective Pete Marino tells her there's been a homicide five minutes away. A high school music teacher has been shot with uncanny precision as he unloaded groceries from his car.

I read all Patricia Cornwell books, even though they can get to descriptive and too much memory thoughts added in, that it will sidetrack you from the main storyline. Scarpetta is her usual self righteous predictable perfect in every way shape and form regular self. This judge mental homewrecker of a character still talks at people and dislikes pretty much everyone still. I continue to read all the Scarpetta books just cause I read a book every couple days.

Okay there is no character development, I'd like to kill myself with an ice pick listening to this. I have 7 more hours to go and I hate the two main characters! Story theme is weak again no character development, over describe the wrong things, I mean stale whiskey scent? Really... Oh pass on this unless you are desperate, as I was. I own over 240 audible books alone, not sure how many before this, I'm a thriller reader, this is not a thriller.

At first Ig thought the horns were a hallucination, the product of a mind damaged by rage and grief. He had spent the last year in a lonely, private purgatory, following the death of his beloved, Merrin Williams, who was raped and murdered under inexplicable circumstances.

There are millions of stories in the city - some magical, some tragic, others terror-filled or triumphant. Jonah Kirk’s story is all of those things as he draws listeners into his life in the city as a young boy, introducing his indomitable grandfather, also a "piano man"; his single mother, a struggling singer; and the heroes, villains, and everyday saints and sinners who make up the fabric of the metropolis in which they live - and who will change the course of Jonah’s life forever. Welcome to The City, a place of evergreen dreams where enchantment and malice entwine.

Just couldn't get into this book, Not a thriller, mystry or ghost story. It was written well, an the story line is okay, it just shouldn't be under Mystery/Thrillers. I always think of Dean Koontz with that scary edge, that almost crossing the line of thrills. This book is just not on that level.

Gladwell begins with the real story of what happened between the giant and the shepherd boy those many years ago.

The day before Halloween 2004 was the last day on Earth for respected, well-liked college professor Fred Jablin. That morning, a neighbor discovered his body lying in a pool of blood in the driveway of Jablin's Virginia home. Police immediately turned their attentions to the victim's ex-wife, Piper, a petite, pretty Texas lawyer who had lost a bitter custody battle and would do anything to get her kids back. But Piper was in Houston, 1,000 miles away, at the time of the slaying and couldn't possibly have been the killer...could she?
