  • Cold Days: The Dresden Files, Book 14

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 50 mins)
    • By Jim Butcher
    • Narrated By James Marsters
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

What made the experience of listening to Cold Days the most enjoyable?

It was exciting from the moment it started. There was never a dull moment in this book and I have listened to it two times already since it has come out.

What other book might you compare Cold Days to and why?

I would recommend the ENTIRE Dresden Files series. In my opinion its one of THE best fantasy series out there. I am a HUGE Jim Butcher fan and Im already anxious for his next book

Which character – as performed by James Marsters – was your favorite?

I think my favorite character by James is Mab Queen of Winter, Darkness, and Air. Im a HUGE fan of Mab. I think James is awesome. He MAKES the books come alive for you. I heard once that they had some other guy narrating one of the books. I dont think I would get as much out of the books if James Marsters wasnt readiong them.. In my opinion he is as awesome as Jim Butcher

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The book kept me anxious for more. I think thats why I listened to the entire thing in two days.

  • Magic Rises

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Ilona Andrews
    • Narrated By Renee Raudman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shape-shifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta. Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shape-shifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute - and they’ll pay him in medicine.

    "BEST ONE YET!!!"
If you could sum up Magic Rises in three words, what would they be?

OMG I could NOT stop listening to this book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Kate and Curran

What about Renee Raudman’s performance did you like?

In my mind no one should EVER read the Kate Daniel series save for Renee Raudman as I honestly don't think anyone else could do it justice

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES and came close to doing so!!

    Any additional comments?

In my mind its the best one YET and I am SO happy it was ATLEAST 15 hours long!! It should of been longer if I had my way. I finished this book in almost two days because I could not stop listening to it. I am a MAJOR fan of this series and I even loved the book that focused on Andrea Nash. But nothing can beat Curran and Kate in my mind. I hope and pray there is ANOTHER book in this series
