I love Heinlein - and have read this book many times but thought I'd try the audible version - narration was a painful listen! None of them were good. Two of them were AWFUL.
The story is great - narration really ruins it however
*I* could've done it better - can't imagine anyone worse
I don't know that I'd re-listen - the narrator does a poor job with the main female character as well as some others, and it grates
This is a light, fun story. The magic is interesting but not elaborate, though the ending makes me wonder if this will change in the future. The main characters were pleasant and there was a lot of action - not sure what I'd compare it with however
For the most part the narration matched the story's pace - it has a lot of action, some of which I zoned out for as I don't particularly care for drawn out fight scenes
This is really something more for action fans and those who love D&D
No, but I won't continue the series - I didn't mind the first but was hoping the next story would bring more depth to the characters and story. The characters are very one dimensional and the story is just not anything special - good vs evil but I don't like any of the characters enough [or hate them enough!] to keep my interest
Victor Bevine does a wonderful job with the narration - the voices flow seamlessly and are all identifiable - well done
boredom . . .
Yes, it was pleasant and enjoyable.
The humor and the inventive story - the action was enough to keep it moving but not overly emphasized
It was good but not great - a little singsongish = and the wry humor was sometimes deadened by a poor read - but not bad at all
This book was a pleasant diversion - sort of x files meets james bond meets dresden - I enjoyed it very much and am glad Ethan gave it a review that made me curious!
I would recommend this book for lighthearted entertainment. Stephanie Plum has a terrific attitude and a good sense of humor.
I really enjoyed the combination of a mystery and the amusing characters that populate her life.
I've never heard the narrator before but I thought her 'voice' for the characters was outstanding.
