Because this book had such favorable reviews, I bought it. However I could not get past the accent of the narrator. I stopped listening after the first chapter.
This book definitely kept me interested in the plot. There is an unexpected twist at the end. I am always afraid that when I write a review, that I will give away too much about the story. I never want to spoil the fun of listening to books. That being said, this book was worth the credit and I will listen to Adam Mitzner's next book.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series. The characters are likable, and the plots are unusual. The books definitely entertain me. I save my four and five star reviews for the can't put them down, page turners. So, the three stars is good in my opinion. The narrator does an outstanding job.
I am enjoying working my way through all of the books in the Tess Monaghan series. The characters are well developed and leaves you wanting to know what the next adventure is.
An unorthodox mystery series for sure, but very entertaining.
I recommend these books.
I reserve 4 and 5 stars for the can't put them down, edge of my seat books. This series is more of a box of chocolates, enjoyable but at a slower pace. Well worth the credit.
I am starting the Tess Monaghan series from the beginning. I've read a few here and there and became hooked. So now I am going to get them all. I like the characters in her stories, and I wanted to get to know them better. I am enjoying the process.
Interesting concept that kept me guessing. I always try to solve the mystery. The more difficult the mystery the more that I like it. I love Scott Brick's narration. I will buy a book just because he narrated it, even if the author is unfamiliar to me.
I really enjoy this series. I finished this book in two days. I have been listening to these out of order, but there is no doubt in my mind that I will eventually get them all. I am going to start at the beginning. I can hardly wait for the next adventure with Tess Monaghan and friends.
As far as I am concerned, Nathan McBride is going to join the ranks of Mitch Rapp and Jack Reacher. I find this character very likable and the author keeps developing new characters that are equally likable and interesting. I will look forward to the next one. I do not like to give away any plots or endings. I only hope that you give this series a try.
Linda Emond does an excellent job narrating this story. There were some very unexpected twists to this plot. I am growing very fond of the characters in the Tess Monaham series. I enjoyed it and will look for another book by Laura Lippman.
Medical mysteries are not usually my preference, however Dr. Welcome does not seem to fit into a medical mystery. He is more of a detective. I find him to be a very likable character along with Cap his AA sponsor. I enjoyed this book and I will try the next one.
I reserve 4-Stars and 5-Stars for the "I can't put them down page turners" This is not in that category, but I did find it an interesting premise.
I found myself totally engrossed in this book. There are a lot of mysteries within this mystery and I tried to solve them all. This is one of the main reasons that I so enjoy mysteries. Mysteries are like mind puzzles. The more difficult the puzzle, the better I like the book. This was well worth the credit. I am looking forward to more from Greg Iles. Joyce Bean did an excellent job at narration.
