"Not bad but wish I hadn't spent the credit"
Good telling of a story through other stories. Ending was a bit of a let down.
"Getting better and better"
Ghost story was not my favorite in the series but Cold Days put this series back on top for me. Love it.
"Good info but practical application?"
the concepts and research are presented well and make sense. More time and text needs to be dedicated to practicle application.
"Kinda boring and narration issues"
Had all the hype. It just never caught my attention. The writing style seemed simplistic. Only lasted about 4 chapters.
"Worth the listen"
A good weave of history and fiction. Enjoyed it. Good ending as well. Not what I expected.
"How to keep track of the characters?"
Finally gave up on trying to keep track of all the characters, all the locations, all the kingdoms. Might work as a movie where you can see them and associate names and faces but .....
"Harlequin romance meets Buffy"
Harlequin romance novel intertwined with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Characters die, become immortal, die again, then get resurected at the drop of a hat.
"Jumbled, erratic, but enjoyable"
I like authors that spend time setting the scene adding ambiance but man does she spend a lot of time on describing things that are off in left field.
First 5 hours are pretty slow but after that it gets going.
"Good at start but drags on and on and on"
My only issue, and its a major one, is the author repeats things in all 4 books. This doesn't sound that bad at first but he repeats A LOT! He explains how the ship captains use a virtual conference room, the importance of the hypernet key, how Geary was found floating suspended for 100 years, and the list goes on. I like what one reviewer said "any reader who cannot look in the front of the book and see this is book 4 in a series of 5 deserves to be confused... the repeated content just makes the story more tiring and comes off as "filler" so the book meets a specific page count. "
Amen brother!
