Maybe I'm just a little tired of werewolves.
This isn't a bad story, but I think it is most suitable for teenagers and early twenties.
There's no "again." I skimmed it the first time, and don't intend to go back for the parts I skipped. That said, I do still like the series, and intend to continue with future books.
While the stories are good, many have appeared elsewhere in theme anthologies. If you like Carrie's work, and don't normally buy short story collections, this is a good value. I just think there should be better disclosure.
I'm going to get this from the library and read it myself. I can't tell whether it's the author or the narrator, but this really drags. Makes you wish there were an accelerator pedal for playback.
This book had some very good sections.
I almost never skip ahead in an audiobook, but I did on this one, just to get it over and done.
Not all books make the transition from paper to audio well, and I suspect this is one of the others.
This is not great literature. A week after you listen to it, you probably won't remember much about it. It's the audio equivalent of a beach book.
But it's fun, and it's entertaining. It's lightweight enough to follow even while doing something. (I like Dickens and Chaucer, but I certainly can't drive and listen to them.) Sometimes, you just want froth, and this is excellent froth.
I loved the original book and the television miniseries based on it. I fully expected to love the audiobook. But somehow I've had this for over a year without managing to finish it.
This is really the sort of book to read yourself, either on paper or ebook. It's just too difficult to back up a few pages to refresh yourself on where you left off, and impossible to go back and look up the previous references to a person or event.
Some of the stories are quite good, and others not at all.
For this, as with other anthologies, I wish Audible provided a table of contents: which chapter is which story and author. That way I could skip stories by authors I know I dislike or go straight to one I want to hear over again.
I liked the stories in the collection, but was disappointed that I had read most of them in other collections.
I have a two hours' drive each way to and from work, and this book made the time speed by (unlike the traffic).
