"Not very good"
The opening story of a young boy flying kites in India was an engaging story that made me hope for a connecting story when he got older, but that didn't happen. The author/narrator was not particularly good.
"Wonderful"
The narration is really good. You would think that different people are reading it. I felt like I knew them. Because I'm not very good listener, I listened to it twicet was good the second time! I picked up things I missed the first time around.
"A great learning experience"
A fascinating story of real-life adventure and detective work. It included information about the reality of forensic evidence with art works. The characters are unbelievable -- but true.
"Eloquent and courageous story"
This brave book explores and explodes many of the myths behind what makes up real Islamic culture. This is a culture where women still are living under repressive conditions in the "modern" Islam world. Her brave journey from her tribal beginnings to a think tank in the is remarkable. Her courage and trials make her a trailblazer for generations to come. With a generous spirit she does not hate the Islamic people but rather the repressive interpretation of the Koran which has kept their culture at a standstill for hundreds of years.
"Very good"
This is the first history book I have listened to. A very interesting look at reconstruction. I was more interested in the stories of the people than of the war. I had to skip the stories about the war. I am kind of amazed that I had never heard of a county that secedefrom the Confederation.
"WELL DONE"
I knew little about this time, and it came alive for me. A solid story with good writing. I have long been a fan of Barbara Kingsolver.
"Not worth the time"
the Scottish voice is nice, but not worth the time. I got halfway through, but then had to quit.
"amazing"
I loved this book. As a book for young readers, I was delightfully surprised as I enjoyed it very much for myself as It has very mature issues. I was thinking about it for my 10 year old nephew, but it is not for him.
"a good listen"
the story is simple, but engaging
"Well Done"
guess I am not a short story listener. I wish they'd put a longer break at the end of the story.
"a good listen"
the ending was worth coming through World War II. Reminds me of how much I have to be grateful for.
