Marc Thiessen knows more than almost anyone outside the CIA about what went on at CIA “black sites” and at the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. As chief speechwriter for President Bush, he was given unprecedented access to some of the most sensitive intelligence our government possessed on al Qaeda terrorists. He has since spent countless hours interviewing the men and women involved in the interrogations at every level—from Vice President Dick Cheney to the interrogators themselves.

This was a very well-written and enlightening book about the methods used to keep the United States safe, and also the ridiculous rulings imposed by the Obama ministration to make this task as difficult as possible. If in other attack after 911 did not occur because of something the Obama administration did, it was more out of sheer luck that we have not had a repeat of the 9/11 attack. this book explains to you why I say this.

  • The Silencing: How the Left Is Killing Free Speech

Life-long liberal Kirsten Powers blasts the Left's forced march towards conformity in an exposé of the illiberal war on free speech. No longer champions of tolerance and free speech, the "illiberal Left" now viciously attacks and silences anyone with alternative points of view. Powers asks, "Whatever happened to free speech in America?"

Steven says: "Audible censors fantastic book on free speech"

The author, Kirsten Powers, provides a great insight into the Liberal think tank. This book indicates her knowledge of both sides of the liberal and conservative argument. Her assessment and comments were spot on. I enjoyed her inventive term, "Ill - liberal left."

A menacing force surrounds us. We see it, we feel it, we know it. The country we love is in grave peril. While politicians and "experts" prattle on about the debt crisis at home, and terrorism abroad, a more insidious homegrown threat is emerging. It endangers our future and undermines our present. The uncomfortable truth: We have become our own worst enemy.

    Story

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this very accurate description of today's social activities here in the United States.

Ingraham nails it and says what we all know to be true, but because of our newly found position of "always being politically correct in what we say aloud" we don't dare utter these things where others can hear.

On the up side: I love her honesty.

On the down side: To me, and I might be the only listener who says it, I found the male speaker, Raymond Arroyo, that introduces the next main topic during the audio, to be very distracting to the overall flow.

I do guarantee that you will bust out laughing at her comments because they strike a real nerve in all of us. Great Job Laura.

Glen Beck, the number-one New York Times best-selling author and popular radio and television host, revisits Thomas Paine's Common Sense with one purpose: to galvanize Americans to see past government's easy solutions, two-part monopoly, and illogical methods, and take back our great country.

Ray says: "Common Sense, read by Glen Beck"
"Bold, unafraid of the truth being told"
    Overall

This has to be the best read of my year. I am an avid reader, a Patriot, a Bostonian, a lover of US History, and a retired Teacher. This should be mailed to every household in America. Glenn Beck is not afraid to face the dragons of our current situation. Let the truth be told, and better yet, let it be heeded.
