"Cancer why me?"
She is taking a not so funny Life experience, and turning it into a laughable thing.
no sorry...
I share some of this experience. If it is not one thing It is another, and could empathize..It seems when trouble comes it really multiplies!
"Nurses will appreciate and former nurses too.."
Brought back good memories of working situations. ...
This a first time read... listen for this author.
yes and I did!
"Are you MISSING THINGS?"
Read all of these as a child, and still love them now. The tale is funny and joyful, a little bit scary and all the things needed for a great imagination!
Ariel, so interested in what in "the world" is going on.
The first encounter with...the boy (but old lady was funny too with her meeting... Saw one or two? "drank a little too much " but your seeing so many...bring all the Madeira? up here."
Have you ever sworn you left something "right there" and can't find it now? It could be you have Borrowers in your house!
Loved the WHOLE set. How come you don't have the borrower's revenged?
My children read them, and now I'm introducing them to the next generation.
"This is a comedy routine!"
No, not for me. I assumed wrongly in buying this.
I had bought two..I think they are miss represented. If I was looking for this type of thing It was OK. BUT I WAS NOT.
Funny, good performance.
It is not a book...and I bought her other when I purchased this one : (
I was looking for real answers. Seeking real help. So was extremely disappointed when I discovered it was a comedy routine. I had a very real need to search for answers to a REAL problem.
"I'm a softy if it comes to animals.ESPECIALLY DOGs"
He thinks this?
Other books that come from a dogs view, "Racing in the Rain", "Marley and Me", "The story of Edgar Sawtelle"
I went into this with fear of having to face the dogs eventual death. why? I have lost one dog in the past 6 months an have another very old dog and surmised this would happen and probably feared it?? So I could not enjoy the book. It is not usually me so can't understand my reluctance.
"Understanding "The SHACK""
Well written story with a very good reader, but an intriguing premise difficult to except at first read.
Actually turned out to be a quite compelling story, once I could set my mind to accepting the main idea. With a steadfast belief, It was almost impossible for me to entertain the existence of the three unusual characters.
Easily shifted to believable tones and voice changes to fit each role. Enjoyed the reading!
I actually had to go back several times to re listen to the ideas being presented. In the beginning chapters. In doing so I heard much more and understood more of the thoughts and feelings of the main character, The father.
I had to make myself read on, due to my inability to accept the story line. I am certainly glad I did. It was quite an amazing look into living with and through a life shattering experience.
I have discussed this book with several others... one, who like me made herself read on. Another who has yet to do so, I am waiting to hear her ideas, and if she picks it up again.
I did enjoy this book, but..... the information given after the last chapter was extremely helpful. This information may be available on the bound book, but comes so late here, that I believe it was the cause of my initial struggle. It completely reset my mindset. If I had only known this information, I would, I believe, not have faced my initial feeling to stop reading.
"Surprise! there is another Anne of Green Gables"
For me this is a great way to relax and try to sleep.
But It was a GOD send, when I shared it with a friend who was unable to read anymore. ... (she died of brain cancer and loved to read) For her, this was a tremendous help to fill the hours.. I am so very glad I found you!! It was a way to be helpful, when there is not allot to offer. Thank you for making available, a wonderful interesting and loving story.
I loved the Captain and his stories of the sea, and his extreme kindness.
The walks on the beach in the moonlight...true romantic ....and lover the sea !!
Laughed out loud at some of Ann's high-jinks...but also cried when the truth came out about others lives and hardships.
Thoroughly enjoyed living a bit more in Anne's shoes!!
