Adam One, the kindly leader of the God's Gardeners - a religion devoted to the melding of science and religion, the preservation of all species and the tending of the Earth - has long predicted the Waterless Flood. Now it has occurred, obliterating most human life. Two women have avoided it: the young trapeze-dancer, Ren, locked into the high-end sex club; and former SecretBurgers meat-slinger turned Gardener, Toby, barricaded into a luxurious spa. Have others survived?

What did you love best about The Year of the Flood?

    The message for sustainability.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Year of the Flood?

The correlation between today's societies obsession with looking young - botox, plastic surgery, fake body parts and those described in the story.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Lorelei King?

Her slow drawl is not what I prefer to listen to - I'd rather not, unless it is appropriate to the vernacular of the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    no

So much of our human body is made up of salt that we'd be dead without it. The fine balance of nature, the trade of salt as a currency of many nations and empires, the theme of a popular Shakespearean play...Salt is best selling author Mark Kurlansky's story of the only rock we eat.

What made the experience of listening to Salt the most enjoyable?

The meandering story of salt moves from one concept to another, while following a chronological order. It makes for a surprising listening, showcasing "salt" as more than the just the simple white crystal that is a staple in our homes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Salt is the star - of course!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration worked fine - if not for a little slow in the delivery at times.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no - but easy to pick up in.

Four-time Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce is famous for playing the lovably self-important Dr. Niles Crane in the hit TV series Frasier. Now, he brings the same wit and charming arrogance to his Signature Classics performance of Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels.

But what Ryan doesn’t know is that his son, Jack Ryan, Jr., has joined his cousins, Brian and Dominic Caruso, at the shadowy Campus. While a highly effective analyst, young Ryan hungers for the action of a field agent.

Really enjoyed the action and description of this tale. It was obviously well researched and the narration fitted this action-packed story. I was very anti-social until I had it finished!
