This is actually the first Marilyn book I've read/heard. Very informative and detailed account of her early years. I got a much better understanding of Norma Jean and was somewhat surprised by her courage and perseverance. This author also presents details regarding her death that I'd never heard either. This bio of Marilyn Monroe gave me a respect for the woman and made a fan out of me.
Beautiful tale of Spiritual Awakening. Not for those with rigidly closed minds. However, if one is open to learning it is the perfect story of one typical American Christian mans journey from boxed in to peeking out ...
Based on reality, this is an expose' of sorts. I never heard of forced sterilization before. I would highly recommend this book. Once I started listening it was hard to pause.
Saw the movie years ago but never read the book. Excellent story line and I thought the narrators performance was perfectly executed. I'll definitely listen to it again!
Stephen Batchelors guide is truly educational. I found his breakdown of Buddhism to be so simple and inspiring. I was concerned that Buddhism would be a complicated thing to understand. Immediately my mind was put to rest as Stephen speaks with authority and expertise. Buddhism as a belief system (it is not a religion for those who may not know) is all that I hoped it would be. I've listened through twice and plan on sharing it with other interested parties. So if you too may be wondering what this thing called Buddhism is all about but are afraid it's too complex, I highly recommend Buddhism Without Beliefs.
The kind of story that could be true. It follows the upbeat Tessla through real life situations. Talented narration is easy to listen to.
Tessla. Because she has a life filled with heart break but she powers through. She finally realizes who her family truly is by the power of love.
It's hard to choose a favorite scene.
When she tucked the child in bed upon her return after a lengthy absence
