    Overall

    I liked this book.
    OK, it's a topic I always like.
Much of the information I have read elswhere before (e.g. Dr Perricone). But there were new things. The presentation/speaker was good. Some things are just a view in the future and not implementable at the moment but still interesting. Only 4 stars because it's a little short for the money.

    I am almost thru.
This book reads like real life.
No glorious heroes, no witty inspectors, just real people in a dark story. I am impressed.
I am always a bit reluctant with female writers, but this one convinced me.

Hundreds of writers have tried to capture life inside the mob, but no one has ever had the inside access to write a book like this one. Drawing on the firsthand experience of former undercover FBI agent Joe Pistone, aka Donny Brasco, as well as former Mafia prince Bill Bonanno, The Good Guys straddles both sides of the law, races relentlessly through the New York City underworld, and crackles with characters and moments so vivid they will never let you go.

Thirty-five years ago, Mario Puzo's great American tale, The Godfather, was published, and popular culture was indelibly changed. Now, in The Godfather Returns, acclaimed novelist Mark Winegardner continues the story, the years not covered in Puzo's best-selling book or in Francis Ford Coppola's classic films.

Behind the gates of a fabulous Hampton estate, FBI Special Agent Pendergast discovers the carnage of a gruesome crime, a nightmare of seemingly supernatural origin. The smoldering remains of infamous art critic Jeremy Grove, a melted cross branding his chest, are found in a locked, barricaded attic. The hoofprint singed into the floorboards and the smell of brimstone recall the legendary horrors that befall those who make a pact with the Devil.

Very good fun with one minor glitch.
I kept myself guessing what's behind everything and in the middle of the story a new mega bad character is introduced out of the nowhere and I feld cheated. Untill now I am no further than this but I had lots of fun anyway.
