Would you consider the audio edition of Transforming Trauma to be better than the print version?

Much better than reading is the intelligence and great kindness of James Findley. Myss is characteristically 'in your face', but the grace of her honesty is compelling and captivating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Transforming Trauma?

The steps as laid out by Findley provide serious steps for serious seekers.

Which character – as performed by Caroline Myss and James Finley – was your favorite?

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have been pursuing the steps and appreciate the wisdom they seem to pull from that deeper place inside. I was hesitant at first to purchase, did not know of Findley, and do not have a direct trauma experience. As an RN and a counselor, I have been witness more than traumatized. I love the understanding that has come as I explore the gift of the sublime difficulty of life overall as trauma....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

In a crowded genre, Singer offers a fresh approach, definitely worth a listen.

Did The Untethered Soul inspire you to do anything?

I teach meditation to men and women in recovery. Recovery from addictions is an ongoing battle for health and the perspective offered in the book is hugely helpful in the deep work my clients must do. The separation of heart and head is understood on multiple and complex levels, identification of the process of addiction and calling the soul back in is the primary message of the book and recovery. The book is a wonderful adjunct to the 12 step program.

This book is thoughtful and uniquely insightful, highly recommend.

  • Thoughts Are Things: The Owner's Manual for the Human Condition

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 22 mins)

    Overall

    Story
    (82)

Prentice Mulford was a New Age thinker long before the term was coined. In the 1880s he foresaw the Internet, world-wide air travel and many other future realities. In this work we have taken many of the concepts from his various books and put them into one book. His unique and direct style allows for our exploration of the most perplexing aspects of what it means to be a spiritual entity living with and through a material body. This is the owners manual for the human condition.

    Story
What made the experience of listening to Thoughts Are Things the most enjoyable?

Prentice Mulford possessed a wisdom and insight that only a select few in history have found. With an educated and authoritarian precision; Mulford warns, teaches, provokes and ultimately cajoles the listener to view life as a serious and glorious decision.

What did you like best about this story?

I was never sure of the source of the wisdom the writer most surely possessed, but on second listen, could only conclude the writer had an inside tract to a divine connection.

What about Al James’s performance did you like?

An intriguing and very gifted performance by the reader who served as the voice of Mulford in a challenging and precise tone and quality.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Thoughts Are Things?

I am a long time listener of Caroline Myss, Deepak Chopra, Ken Wilber, Adyashanti and those I believe to be the great thought provoking minds of this time. I have added this book to the collected wisdom and list this in the 'need to know' category.

    Any additional comments?

This information is necessary and timely, provocative and somehow inherently right. I highly recommend a good listen and consideration of the whole of the information for just about any age or group.

  • What Makes Us Healthy?: Understanding Mystical Law and Your Parallel Reality

In What Makes Us Healthy? best-selling author and internationally renowned speaker Caroline Myss delivers a thought-provoking live lecture on the current state of our health, exploring the mystical forces that create disease or wellness. Describing our evolving - and often misguided - relationship with well-being, Myss explains that to truly be healthy, we need a better understanding of ourselves and the factors that influence our lives.

    Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Many of us have health coaches or aspire to improve our health. Myss addresses health as a return to mind , body , spirit. The misstep we have taken as a society has been to include mind, body and to simply ignore the spirit aspect of our overall health. A return to health must include all three, and Myss speaks clearly to this need.

What other book might you compare What Makes Us Healthy? to and why?

There are numerous books on wellness, whole health and countless fabrications on getting fit , slim or eating right.( Dr. Andrew Weil stands out).. Few examine health as a construct of spirit and mind health and healing as well as Myss. In the 80's, the Yale surgeon Bernie Seigal wrote of love and miracles and health and his' I Can' cancer groups became foundational to wellness. In the 90's, author and cardiologist, Dean Ornish (Eat More , Weigh Less) was instrumental in returning our attention to the connection of health, creating community and emotional support. In this ever evolving topic of health, I can think of no one as fundamentally conscious of the complexities of responding to mind , body spirit than Myss and her writings on health and healing, and turning our attention to Grace.

Which character – as performed by Caroline Myss – was your favorite?

    N/a

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    A Return to Health

    Any additional comments?

Myss continues to astound with her 'in your face' facility for awakening us to our deepest truths through her own words and insights, and through her enlightened choice of co speakers on the journey,
