I made the mistake of buying this audible book early on because it was on the "most downloaded" list and needed a book for my travel. This was before their were any audible customer reviews. Something I never do and learned a lesson! The book was terrible and had I read the reviews that now exist I would never have purchased it. The comments about how the author kept flipping from one scene to another constantly made it incoherent and the plot so disjointed it became impossible to follow.. I agree the Scott Brick did a great job and one of the reasons I purchased it....however the plot was so discombobulated ...even with his great reading ability...I couldn't finish it.
...just finished listening to Audible "the Poet".which I would have recommended......however.......terrible convoluted ending!!!!!....When you get to the middle of part two....where they get and kill the Poet in the camera store....turn off the device and stop listening ......it was a great story up to that part....the remanding doesn't make any sense...Too bad ...but that often happens with mystery novels...the author tries to surprise you with some nonessential ending......
I have either read or heard on Audible all of David Baldacci"s books and found them all to be enjoyable with the exception his recent "First Family" which I though was terrible. I can't believe it was from the same author who has in the past written thoughtful and thrilling novels. This one is insipid and its hard to believe it was written by the same person. Even though Audible offered a special deal on the book it wasn't worth it.
