"Love Toliken"
complex, wonderful story. I love this story and would listen to it again when I need to be distracted but cannot read a book.
I love this story, the complexity of the story, the detailed character development and clean movement to the conclusion.
"Love this story and preformance"
I still prefer the print version, but the audio version is a good way to revisit the story
"a favorite, still"
Yes, this is a wonderful story that I find new elements in each time I listen or read it.
Gandalf.
No, I have read this and listen too it at times when I am looking for a quiet and reflective mood.
"interesting historical fiction"
This book is a good read for a light afternoon. Not too deep, not too obvious.
easy to listen to.
interesting story, with a good twist. some slightly jarring notes when modern social issues are over represented, but overall can move past those episodes.
"unfortunately missed the mark"
No, I would not try another one. she is imposing modern behaviors on historically differnt times. Too militant feminist, not subtle at all.
clear, good story voice, sometimes mixes up character voices.
no, the author has lost the time and era. she has spent too much effort on modern values and how they were not probably present in the time the story was set. Makes a bad jarring story note. very dissappointing
too preachy. unfortunate she missed the mark. the story basis would have been interesting if handled more adroitly.
"Classic mystery in an English landscape"
Love Ian Carmicheal's performance. All the actors did a supurb job and was a delightful audio play.
the English accents make the dialog live. You can practically smell the office and feel the English fog.
"Toy story for the digital age!"
This story does for digital gaming what Woody and Buzz Lightyear did for toys. It is a real mind bender to think that the things that are killed in video games are really dying some where. Do we take killing too much for granted in the electronic age???.
His voice made listening easy and did not detract from the story.
yes.
"Long live Lord Peter Wimsey!"
I loved the characters and narration. Was very easy to
Dorothy Sayers's books are wonderful. Her Lord Peter character is very charming and I love to follow his mysteries.
"Loved it!"
Yes, would definately listen again because I enjoyed the story and would probably pick up more details know that I know the main characters. The narration strikes the right balance, not beening too theatrical but keeping the story moving.
Yes, but due to the time, it was stretched out over a delightful weekend.
"fun little story"
It is a short story that is a fresh take on how science methodically kills the romance and mystery of so many wonderful things.
