This book si so poorly written, I can't finish it. It is overly repetitive and redundance 9I know, I know). The characters are poorly drawn. Details are either missing or so obvious that you want to yell, "Duh!" The naarration is monotone and with little variation between characters.
This book is about assassinations and torture, trying to justify them to protect americans. Be forewarned. I am returning it.
A good editors red pen would have a field day with the senseless repetition, and needless words, not to mention the 8th grade vocabulary and total lack of realistic motives.
Steve Berry includes many details about Lincoln and the Civil War that are not widely known. History buffs might enjoy it.
I'm going to do some Shakespeare next
narrator was ok
This seemed to try too hard to gain sympathy for misunderstood and discriminated Mormons... without doing anything to show the other side of the clear social, political, and religious conflicts involved. Very disappointing.
a religious fanatic
Plot was trite and out of date. Characters lacked any kind of depth and conflict, outside of sexual jealousy. Themes were sophomoric.... "If you believe in love you believe in God"?! Really?
Monotonous. Characters could have used a lot more punch
I'll never buy another. This was one of the most repetitive and poorly written books I've listened to, not to mention the cliches. The narration is choppy and awkward.
