Suddenly all alone in 1894 Kansas, Summer Steadman can't find the employment she needs to settle near the fresh graves of her husband and four children. Bitter against the Lord and refusing to eat, she collapses in despair. Remembering his own painful loss, godly widower Peter Ollenbuger offers her food and shelter for tutoring his 10-year-old son.

This was a such a great story. The story line was very well written, and the narrator did a outstanding job sounding out the different characters. Even my husband enjoyed listening to the story. We were on a road trip and I asked him if he wanted to listen to the story. To humor me he did and ended up liking the story. This isn't my husbands type of book, but he thought the characters were interesting. If you like Historical Romance you'll love this one!

Imagine answering your cell phone one day to a male voice that gives you three minutes to confess your sin. If you don't, the madman, Slater, will blow your car to smithereens. You barely manage to exit heavy traffic and ditch the car when, precisely three minutes later, your car blows sky high. The media and police descend on the scene; your world has just changed forever.

I thought this was a great book! The plot kept you on your toes. I thought the narrator did a great job. Some people thought he had a nasal problem, but it's a suspense novel. He also did a great job sounding out the different voices. I have read other Ted Dekker books and as usual he keeps you wondering. Can't wait to listen to another Dekker story.

Unveiled, the first book in the Grace of Lineage series, brings Tamar, daughter-in-law of Judah, to life. Even though she was sinned against and sinned herself, using her wits to trick Judah into sleeping with her, God chose to use her shame to bless her and to show grace and forgiveness to all! Tamar was the mother of Perez, and among his descendants was Boaz, the great-grandfather of King David.

Francine Rivers is such a great Christian author. I love this book, because it really goes in to depth about what life was like in the Old Testament. She makes you feel as if you are with Tamar, and going through her pain. I can't wait to listen to another one of Francine Rivers' books.
