I feel so much like I am having a conversation with Mr. Dawkins and Ms. Ward. It is so wonderfull to be awestruck by the concepts he opens with logical arguments.
A personal touch. I feel as though they are explaing these things to me over a cup of coffee or most likley tea.
It made me sit back in awe at the sight of a rainbow.
A great book for a science minded teen.
For me yes, I have a busy schedule and a long commute. Audio books allow me much more time to read(listen).
I found Mr. Dawkins does what very few people do. He gives you information from both sides of the arguments and allows the information to make the argument not the other way around. (Michael Shermers Baloney Detection kit)
Ms. Ward does a fabulous job, I love her tones and sarcasms. She adds great dimension and personality to the reading. It is very much like having a conversation with 2 people over a coffee.
Over and over Mr. Dawkins opened my eyes to how I had been spoon fed only the tastiest bits of the bible and religion. I have never been a person of great faith and now I understand why.
I think it would be quite something to meet Mr. Dawkins. I intend to seek out more of his work. I will also be trying to see or hear any of his interviews that are available. What an inspiring mentor.
I would recomend this to certain people with the warning that only parts of live up to the level set by his
While I know Mr. Jillette often using harsh language his constant use in this book made it a hard read (or listen). The language often substracted from the point.
not too bad
Yes, it inspired me to read Richard Dawkins.
Yes, Julia tells a wonderfull story of a happy little girl growing up and beginning to ask questions as why we believe these things were taught. The deep and harder she looked at these gems the prevalent the flaws became.
She managed to make a sound argument without being disrespectfull to others who cherish thier faith.
You could easily sense how dificult this journey was her to make. Each corner a new dispointment.
I laughed, at the banter with her priest. I cried at the realazation that those we love are just gone that all we keep with us is the memmories.
