There is nothing Connor Malone wants to do less than babysit the outrageous and out-of-control pop star Lyric Jones. But part of him relishes taming the celebratty songstress and showing her what it's like to be possessed - body and soul - by one man. And though Lyric's crazy antics nearly drive Connor to the edge, his quiet intensity penetrates her defenses, leaving them both vulnerable to the secrets that could topple Lyric from the stage.

What would have made Sweet Possession better?

this story does not follow the sweet series story line, just the characters are repeated.
All the sweet stories are closer to erotica than romance. This one is so ordinary, it is almost as if Ms Banks needed to meet a publishing dead line.

What could Maya Banks have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Follow her other outlines a bit closer

What didn’t you like about Caroline Wintour’s performance?

this is a bad reader, but if you like Ms Banks erotica, you have to put up w/Wintour's bad breathy voice. Awful

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

none, waste of listening hours. I kept thinking it would get better

    Any additional comments?

all other sweet stories are good for erotica, but again you must be able to endure a bad reader voice. book4, 2, 6 are the better ones

After the brutal murder of an art gallery owner, the beautiful and mysterious artist Holly Troy seems to be the key to finding out what really happened on the night of the homicide. Unfortunately, Holly also suffers from dissociative identity disorder, and many of her personalities come straight from classical mythology, from the powerful Cronos and Pandora to the fickle Fates. Holly has no idea who she was the night of the crime - whether she witnessed anything, or even if she was the killer herself. Homicide detective Orson Cheever must unravel the complex labyrinth of Holly’s mind before he can find the truth.

What did you like best about Multiple Wounds? What did you like least?

I purchased due to Nora Roberts Boons bough trilogy as I liked the reader. THIS was NOT for me. I did not realize I could sub select on a reader. This is a mystery which I like but this author is not for me. Too wordy in the wrong direction; too slow.

What could Alan Russell have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

A faster pace read makes a good mystery for me.

What about MacLeod Andrews’s performance did you like?

Everything, he was the saving grace. I had to skip chapters to finish.

Was Multiple Wounds worth the listening time?

Absolutely not for me. I am skipping chapters to finish.

    Any additional comments?

Boy, knowledge is power and I have now learned I can refine my search type for romance by reader. It is the reader that I buy not just the story.

Would you try another book from Delilah Devlin and/or J. F. Harding?

yes, as book #1 was very good. This started out fast, but continued as if it were just the outline of the story. Yes, this is a BDSM story, but even those portions needed something...less on the surrounding plantation and foliage. If this story is a continuation of #1, it fails to keep the tension stated in the synopsis.

If you’ve listened to books by Delilah Devlin before, how does this one compare?

DD books are mixed! I keep buying them, but have been disappointed on a few selections.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

J.F. has a great reading voice. He does a great Cajun accent, but you must like them. I do not and therefore it took away from MY listening experience. JF does a nice job on female voice so I do hope he continues to do Romance reads.

Was His Every Fantasy worth the listening time?

No, it was not for me. It was an auto download for me when it came out due to book #1. That book is HOT. This book had so much potential, but failed to deliver.

    Any additional comments?

If there is a #3 book, I will be awaiting fellow reviewers comments before I purchase. I did not check if listerners reviewed book #1 and I was surprised I am the first to review this book. What was odd, I had to go to written word reviews to get the story outline. Audible, put this one on sale!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I love these old classic core romances done in the 80's. The men were just so dominant without body art. Now you have to love and laugh at the changes the great authors have made over the years to really appreciate these older works.

What did you like best about this story?

All the 80's stories were about ladies gaining inner strength and taking control of their own destiny.

How could the performance have been better?

I do not know were Dreamscape came up with the group of bad readers! Which is worst never hearing a classic or having a bad reader ruin it? These readers have AKA, but you listen to a couple of chapters and they are awful. Who cares if they can do female voices...they have NO male voice at all. They take away from the core male dominance author wrote about.

Could you see An Independent Wife being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Angelina and Brad, maybe

What made the experience of listening to Justice the most enjoyable?

reader has matured and did a great job.

What did you like best about this story?

this is classic old Robards, think Night Magic and Walking After Midnight. Remember this is a romance with a mystery and chase. Nothing too deep, heavy or dark. A fun listen that gabs and holds you until you finish.

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ms Dawe did a great job on this one. She stopped turning up the end of her sentences and she made all the characters just really come to life. Our hero Mark, is yummy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did, but beware, author left this open to become a series. I just hope Ms Robards does develop it like J D Robb. Plenty of room to do more books.

    Any additional comments?

It was a SHAME "Pursuit" got such bad reviews. I will have to now buy the book. Audible, when listeners say, great book, awful narration, please put the book on the $4.95 sale.

What did you like best about Full Disclosure? What did you like least?

great use of deductive reasoning and good fast dialogue. This is listed under romance and is not what most core romance readers/listeners seek. This is a good example of good christian faith woven into a mystery/ FBI story.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I have not finished the book as write, but I hope to finish this book. The dialogue is that good for the mystry portion . I have hit the heavy faith portion author has woven into the story, and with all due respect, I feel the dialogue should be in the Christian or family listings. Tastfully done, but not appropriate or stated in the publishers synopsis.

What about David de Vries’s performance did you like?

I liked his reading style. Fast pace which made up for any other criticisms I may have of the editing. This should have been posted under Christian genre.

Do you think Full Disclosure needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

this author is a very talented writer, but her books are in the wrong section and not for me.

    Any additional comments?

This was part of BOGO sale and I did not read the reviews before selecting. Both choices seem a bit on the outside of my usual buys. Overall I can't say I was pleased with the selections! I know audible wants its listeners to expand their reading scope, but if I wanted a Christian listen, I would have gone to that section. Audible please take note.

What did you love best about The Perfect Hope?

Great use of cute dialogue NR can do in her series books. This is a simple story, nothing deep, but if you know her series books, this one is NOT to be missed. NR does use curse words in this one so if that does not offend, this was a wonderful use of her imagination pulling her other good series together in a new one.

What other book might you compare The Perfect Hope to and why?

If you are a long time fan of NR series: The blue dahlia kid slaves, Seaswept dog and brothers, Heaven and Earth and Dance upon the Air women. Wonderful dialogue not to be missed. Yes, there is the some slow dialogue NR uses when she starts to describe areas, but she did that in these other books too. This book was GREAT if you are a fan of the other series named.

    Which scene was your favorite?

when Ryder is asked to "Go With it" and he requests pie for his reward.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This brought back good memories of those books named. I purchase this one first as Ryder was so appealing. I LOVE MacLoud Andrews and had looked for more of his work after Robert Crasis book he read. He has a wonderful reading technique and his female and kids voices are good.

    Any additional comments?

If you are looking for NR main stream type of book, this is not it! This is a warm story, with lots of descriptions as NR can write, and lots of cute dialogue you have to be in the mood for. Enjoy

If you could sum up Hunted in three words, what would they be?

Sexy, testy, determined. This is a simple story, nothing too deep. If deep is what you want, this is not it. This is a romance!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

For those readers who are not familiar with this long time good author, she is a core romance writer who will give you a good story. Now if you want a true mystery, then this genre is not for you. There will be some stories that may give you more of a mystery than heat, but do not be disappointed if there is not as it is still a romance catagory.

Have you listened to any of MacLeod Andrews and Cassandra Campbell ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love MacLeod Andrews and this is my first CC listen. I own hundreds of audios and she is an AKA of another listen...she is good in this one. She could have read faster in the first 4 chapters, but that is because listeners want the mystery to unfold faster. This story is not about a mystery but the connection between two people who have an unfinished history. I have a couple of other listens to hear from each of these readers and I look forward to them. I will have to figure out what AKA name CC goes under as her male voice is familar.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did as it was good and I am a long time fan of KR. Try One Summer if you like this one, that is a classic of KR and is recorded by the late great Anna Fields.

I was happily surprised at this book.

What did you love best about The Cutting Edge?

these are classic 80's books recorded by Dreamscape. Beware if you are not of fan of LH older books, read the reviews first. These books are written in the older classic male dominance style. If you are a modern woman and can not abide weak female roles as written in the 80's, then these are not for you. I loved the books and have awaited them on audio for years. I am a strong person and realize these books are core romance and can enjoy them for how they were written back in the day. Not a tattoo onsite.

What other book might you compare The Cutting Edge to and why?

All That Glitters, Midnight..., Diamond Bay. All 80's style.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Lesa Lockford?

She is ok for female role, but these older LH reads must be done by readers who can do a strong male voice as they carry the story. Natalie ross or Karen White can get the job done.
Brenda Sweeney was awful and I skipped preferring to read the classic.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

these older core romances are true happily ever after stories of woman who over come their situation and our hero turns tender and loving after some hard core dialogue.

Where does Dreams of a Dark Warrior rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Of the 10 KC books I own, this is # 1. Lots of fast dialogue that makes you laugh and get sad too. When you don't want it to end, then it goes to the top.

Who was your favorite character and why?

KC really out did herself on this one. Gads that lady must read all the reviews and knows what her readers want. In this book KC mixes the characters and story very well. Other authors should take note. All the characters were great in this one. Young Thad will break your heart. Our heroine, is my favorite due to her sass and strength!

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This man can read a phone book and make it sound great. He can make each character so real to you. This one is not to be missed!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Listen in part 1 when Nix talks into the car bug! I burst out laughing and had a belly laugh.

    Any additional comments?

If you only try one in this series, start with this one. Yes it is not book# 1, but you will get a taste of what everyone is raving about. Author knows how to weave stories so they are linked but can stand alone. You will end up buying most if not all of the 14 books as they draw you in. I have read all out of order and they were all well done, some more than others, but none disappoint that you would stop the series.

Would you listen to Dark Fire again? Why?

Yes, but I am a long time fan of E.L. 1988'ish work. I no long purchase her newer work as they do not appeal to me. I own hard bound all her old classics and have waited for these classic to be recorded.

What did you like best about this story?

This is an old fashion core romance of the 80's, which I love. EL wrote a few which I pull out every few years an re read. My all time fave, too hot to handle will make you cry and know inner strength will overcome all. You must like hard core heros who in the end fall head over heels for the heroine, or this book is not for you.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I wanted this story and since it was not read by my Do Not Buy reader, laural merlington, I took a chance on this very expensive reader. I looked her up and she is not worth the money she got for it. Note: she was not bad, but $25.00 or a full credit was too much. She didn't take away from this listen, but she is no way on my want to get more listens list. she was good enough that I will listen again to this great book. Jonathan Davis, Sandra browns new reader is to die for! EL has not gotten a decent reader and she could get so much more work purchased if she did her homework. we Listeners are in for the reader. Look at kresley cole and see her reviews.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Of course as it is only 5 hrs long. This is a core romance classic, which you must love or you will be disappointed if you use a credit.

    Any additional comments?

One of my all time fave, tell me no lies is abridged and I do not buy any abridged stories. If you are an EL fan of her older books, then this is a must buy. my other fave, beautiful dreamer was originally published as valley of the sun. This is read by one of my least fave readers, Laural merlington who I will not buy any more no matter what old fave of mine she reads.
